Job description

Position Overview:
As a Dishwasher you are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils and equipment. You are responsible for ensuring that all items are cleaned and sanitized according to established protocols to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
  • Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans and other kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashing equipment
  • Ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and sanitized established by industry standards
  • Stack and store clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff
  • Emptying trash bins and removing garbage from the kitchen regularly
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces including but not limited to countertops sinks and floors as needed
  • Maintaining an organized dishwashing and storage areas
  • Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment including but not limited to dishwasher, sinks, and drains to ensure proper functioning
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to kitchen supervisor or Executive Chef immediately
  • Assisting the kitchen staff with food preparation such as but not limited to peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients and/or assembling dishes as needed
  • Following all safety and hygiene procedures established by the Executive Chef and Food safe practices
  • Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment as needed
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by leadership

Experience:
  • Preferred: One (1) year experience in food service industry or relevant experience

Schedule:
  • Days and start times TBD based on business needs
  • Part time
  • Flexibility to work hours needed based on event schedules

Compensation:
  • $17.00 per hour

Environment:
  • Kitchen environment - varying temperatures based on seasons and equipment

Skills:
  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments;
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
