We are currently seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of Design Engineer - Level III, located in Endicott, NY. The Design Engineer will be responsible for integrating full assemblies (cables, lugs, enclosure). This role will lead the design for manufacture process and manage customer adaptation. The candidate will be dedicated to product and process improvement and system integration to continue pushing the industry forward. This position is based on-site in Endicott, NY and is not eligible for remote work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and Development: Lead projects and teams to develop innovative solutions for customer needs based on design for manufacture qualifications. Provide technical guidance through the design and development phases, as well as product launches.
  • Analysis and Testing: Identify and solve complex engineering problems, developing detailed project plans and solution proposals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with Quality Assurance and lower level design engineers to establish the reliability requirements of products. Facilitate customer adaptation. Understand, follow, and assist lower level Engineers to follow applicable Company practices, policies and procedures.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex design problems and issues. Develop innovative solutions to improve product performance and efficiency.
  • Industry Standards and Regulations: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the field.
  • Work Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Understand and follow all applicable company practices, policies, and procedures. Conduct all work compliant with safety rules and regulations. Perform other work duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience with modeling tools (CAD, Pro E, or Solidworks) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in UL508A, IPC620, and/or high-current electrical integration.
  • Working knowledge and application of principles and techniques commonly employed in the design and manufacture interconnect products such as metal fabrication, die cast, stamped and formed, and plastic injection molded components.
  • Working knowledge of how the designed solutions may be used and help in developing the qualification tests and reliability parameters.
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Travel may be required, both domestic and international.
