About the role
As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and delivering scalable, secure, customer-focused software solutions that translate complex business needs into high-performing technology outcomes. You will be a valued member of an agile engineering team and work collaboratively with product managers, business stakeholders, security, risk, compliance, platform teams, and other technical experts.
In this role, you will:
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into clean, scalable, and secure software architectures while anticipating technical risks, edge cases, and long-term maintainability.
• Own full-stack feature delivery across services, data, and user interfaces, making pragmatic technology decisions that balance speed, quality, and business value.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly throughout the software development lifecycle to improve engineering productivity while maintaining accountability for code quality, correctness, and security.
• Build production-ready systems with strong testing, CI/CD practices, observability, alerting, runbooks, and recovery paths to support reliability and operational readiness.
• Partner closely with product, business, security, compliance, risk, and platform stakeholders to communicate technical trade-offs clearly and deliver meaningful business outcomes.

What you need to have to be considered:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience designing, developing, supporting, and deploying modern enterprise-grade software systems.
• Hands-on full-stack engineering experience across services, data, APIs, and user interfaces.
• Experience with technologies such as Python, Vue.js, AWS or Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, APIs, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Demonstrated experience building reliable, secure, and maintainable systems using testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and production support practices.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders, build trust, communicate technical concepts clearly, and operate with autonomy in fast-paced environments.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $102,000 to $160,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
