What is an Executive Flock Advisor?

An Executive Flock Advisor is a professional who provides guidance and strategic advice to poultry farm executives or managers, particularly in areas related to flock management, health, productivity, and business operations. They leverage their expertise to help optimize flock performance, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and implement best practices in animal welfare. These advisors often analyze data, recommend improvements, and support decision-making processes to increase overall farm profitability and sustainability.

How does an Executive Flock Advisor typically collaborate with farm management and animal health teams to optimize flock performance?

An Executive Flock Advisor works closely with farm managers, veterinarians, and nutritionists to develop and implement strategies that promote flock health and productivity. This often involves regular on-site visits to assess flock conditions, analyze production data, and address challenges such as disease outbreaks or feed quality issues. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as the advisor must coordinate recommendations and ensure they align with operational goals. By fostering strong relationships with on-site teams, the advisor helps drive continuous improvement and long-term success for the operation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Executive Flock Advisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Flock Advisor, you need in-depth knowledge of poultry science, animal husbandry, and flock health management, often supported by a degree in animal or poultry science. Familiarity with farm management software, biosecurity protocols, and regulatory compliance systems is typically required. Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and leadership abilities help in guiding farm operations and advising clients. These skills ensure optimal flock performance, regulatory adherence, and effective support for poultry producers.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of transactional attorneys responsible for customer agreements across SaaS, software licensing, and professional services.

  • Serve as the primary legal escalation lead for Sales, Finance, and Customer Success to negotiate complex public-sector and commercial transactions.

  • Partner with Legal Operations to design, update, and deploy contract templates, playbooks, negotiation guidance, and self-service business resources.

Job description

The Problem

As Flock expands customer partnerships across both public-sector agencies and commercial organizations, managing the volume and complexity of transactional agreements is central to our growth trajectory. Delivering thoughtful legal guidance while keeping contracting velocity high requires dedicated legal leadership to develop transactional attorneys and streamline deal structures. You will lead our revenue legal team, partner closely with GTM executives, and optimize our end-to-end commercial contracting framework.

What You'll Own
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of transactional attorneys responsible for customer agreements across SaaS, software licensing, and professional services.

  • Serve as the primary legal escalation lead for Sales, Finance, and Customer Success to negotiate complex public-sector and commercial transactions.

  • Partner with Legal Operations to design, update, and deploy contract templates, playbooks, negotiation guidance, and self-service business resources.

  • Advise cross-functional business partners on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Drive operational efficiency across contracting workflows, tools, and enablement resources to accelerate deal execution.

What This Role is Not
  • This isn't a hands-off executive position, you'll actively negotiate complex customer agreements and directly review high-impact contract terms.

  • This is not a specialized regulatory or litigation role, your primary focus centers on commercial transactions, customer contracting, and revenue enablement.

  • This isn't a siloed legal function, you will collaborate daily with Sales, Finance, Product, and Legal Operations to align legal strategy with business growth goals.

What You Bring
  • Extensive legal experience leading, negotiating, and drafting complex technology and commercial contracts spanning public-sector and private commercial customers.

  • Proven track record managing, coaching, and developing a team of transactional attorneys.

  • Demonstrated capability partnering with business teams to structure deals, manage risk, and resolve contract questions under tight deadlines.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal business partners and customers.

  • Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • Prior in-house legal experience supporting a SaaS or technology company is a plus.

Compensation

In this role, you'll receive a starting salary between $175,000 and $230,000 as well as Flock Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in depth with you during our first chat.

Why Flock

Every community deserves to be safe. Flock builds the technology that makes that real: last year we supported over 1 million criminal investigations and helped locate more than 10,000 missing people. We're 1,700 people building the impossible with over $1B in funding, and the expectations are high on purpose. If you want a role where the stakes are real and the pace matches, this is it.

Some problems get solved faster in the same room, so we prioritize candidates in Atlanta and Boston. Hub-based roles mean real in-person time with your coworkers. Remote roles exist, and when a posting is open to remote work, it says so.

the impossible takes every kind of mind. Flock is an equal opportunity employer, and we know the best solutions come from diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills working together with mutual respect. Everyone is welcome to apply. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, email recruiting@flocksafety.com; your information stays confidential and is used only to arrange the right accommodation for your interviews.

On compensation: we pay fairly for the work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education, training, and market indicators. The range in this posting covers base salary only and doesn't include equity, sales bonus plans where applicable, or benefits. The range may be adjusted over time, and this posting may span more than one career level.

One last thing: all legitimate communication from Flock comes from an email ending in @flocksafety.com or noreply@ashbyhq.com. We never make offers through messaging apps or third parties, and we never request payment or sensitive personal information during hiring. If you encounter suspicious outreach about a Flock role, report it to recruiting@flocksafety.com.
