Job description

At Robots & Pencils, we drive digital innovation by building meaningful, scalable software products for forward-thinking clients. We areseekingan experienced and strategic Delivery Manager to lead distributed teams across North America.

About the role

You will lead delivery of an AI-powered student intervention system being built for a large public research university. This engagement is the first in a series of planned thin slices toward a broader institutional AI initiative - one with an ambitious long-term vision: an intelligent system that supports students across every stage of their university experience.
The work spans research, build, and evaluation phases, requiring you to manage a cross-functional team, coordinate across multiple institutional stakeholders and internal systems, and keep delivery moving in an environment where scope and integration dependencies are being defined in real time. You will be responsible for translating discovery findings into a governed build plan, maintaining alignment between technical progress and institutional access timelines, and ensuring the system that reaches students is both operationally sound and set up for continuous improvement.
This is a complex, evolving engagement at the ground floor of something much larger. The right person is comfortable with ambiguity, experienced managing delivery in institutional environments, and skilled at keeping a team focused when the path forward is still being confirmed.

 Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in technical delivery
  • Proven success delivering complex projects in agile environments, meeting demanding timelines and quality expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise AI platforms
  • Strong familiarity with CRM and student information systems, LMS integration, and multiple institutional data sources
  • Ability toleveragedelivery metrics and performance data to inform strategies andoptimizeoutcomes
  • Expertise in cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; confident managing executive-level relationships and escalations
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant technical/project management certifications are highly desirable
  • Experience managing delivery teams across multiple time zones and geographies
  • Experience working with education or higher education environments, or leading complex discovery and operational documentation engagements, is a strong plus
