The Role

The COO handles all operational elements of FPTC, working with critical support functions to identify coordination and integration opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, and ensure successful implementation of new initiatives. As COO, you blend technology, service management, domain and operations platform expertise with a passion for delivering results!

As a leader, you ensure that all operations relating to FPTC are performed in a timely and efficient manner. You will partner with other Fidelity managers to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place, and adhered to, to run FPTC's day-to-day operations. As part of FPTC's management team, you will influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements. You will help improve and maintain workflows, recordkeeping, data integrations between platforms and data ecosystems. This role works closely with internal and external partners-including regulatory and governing bodies-to ensure the highest standards of practice for all operational matters related to FPTC. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading all aspects of the operational services, including strategy, architecture, program management, development and implementation.
  • Supervising the infrastructure operations that support the business.
  • Ensuring business policies and procedures are congruent with the expectations of FPTC's regulator (OCC) and internal, and external auditors
  • Supporting FPTC's Trust Administration, Fiduciary and Tax teams to allow them to conduct their work in an efficient manner with the right tools and applications in place
  • Advising relevant business units on FPTC's application and systems requirements, as well supporting and leading change management as needed
  • Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria
  • Measuring performance against established objectives and metrics that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
  • Defining and owning FPTC's internal and external vendor relationships and vendor management program
  • Serving on internal Committees and providing executive reporting, strategic recommendations, and business updates to the Board of Directors
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • BA/BS Degree with 15 years of shown experience, including people management
  • Knowledge of estate planning, trust and fiduciary services, and wealth management solutions, enabling effective oversight of fiduciary operations, risk management, and client service delivery
  • Experience in leading cross functional operations team to deliver product capabilities and solutions
  • Ability to harmonize systems and data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Experience leading, influencing, motivating, and collaborating cross-company to deliver business outcome
  • Solid knowledge of technology expansive of user interface, data flows, business process, architecture, and delivery
  • Take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic goals into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
  • Focus on execution with ability to identify, communicate, and remove impediments
  • Track record of building impactful teams with ability to lead, influence, and motivate colleagues without formal authority
  • Intellectual curiosity, modeling an environment of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
The Team

Fidelity Personal Trust Company (FPTC) is a federally chartered trust company, located in Merrimack, NH, Wilmington, DE, and Smithfield, RI. FPTC offers personal trust services to Fidelity's customers as well as broader trustee services to our WI partners (HSA and Stock Plan Services). FPTC is regulated by the OCC, and management is held accountable for its results with FPTC's Board of Directors, which is made up of both internal and external members.

Fidelity Wealth's Customer Insights & Offerings is a newly established function, bringing customer analytics and wealth management offerings even closer together. The team is responsible for understanding the needs and behaviors of Fidelity Wealth's customers and their families and developing offerings and solutions that meet their needs throughout their lifetime.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
