We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager - Intelligent Edge, Firmware & Hardware Innovation to shape and scale the future of our next-generation Edge AI platforms, embedded firmware, and hardware systems. In this role, you will set the strategic direction, build a world-class engineering organization, and deliver breakthrough technologies that enable safety-critical decisions in real-world environments.
As a engineering leader, you will not only lead engineering execution but also influence company strategy, partner with executives, and drive innovation across the full lifecycle-from architecture to deployment-on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
  • Define and drive the multi-year technology vision and roadmap for intelligent edge computing, firmware, and hardware innovation.
  • Translate business strategy and customer needs into scalable engineering priorities and architectures.
  • Represent engineering in executive forums, influencing product strategy, investments, and partnerships.

Organization Building & Scale
  • Build, scale, and mentor high-performing teams across embedded systems, edge AI, and hardware development.
  • Establish engineering best practices, development frameworks, and processes to ensure delivery at scale.
  • Attract and develop top global talent while fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and accountability.

Innovation & Architecture
  • Oversee architecture and design of next-generation embedded AI pipelines, firmware platforms, and purpose-built hardware for real-time safety applications.
  • Champion cloud-to-edge AI transformation, ensuring models are deployable, optimized, and reliable in constrained environments.
  • Drive evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI accelerators, toolchains, and hardware ecosystems.

Execution & Delivery
  • Ensure engineering programs meet strict performance, safety, and compliance requirements in mobile and vehicle-mounted environments.
  • Oversee cross-functional delivery of high-impact initiatives spanning AI/ML, product, cloud, and operations.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure engineering performance, quality, and business impact.

External Partnerships & Influence
  • Build strong relationships with hardware/accelerator vendors, research partners, and strategic technology providers.
  • Act as a thought leader in the industry, representing BusPatrol in external forums, partnerships, and innovation ecosystems.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with significant expertise in embedded systems, firmware, hardware, or edge AI.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership leading firmware engineering.
  • Proven experience building and scaling multi-disciplinary engineering organizations.
  • Expertise with embedded AI ecosystems and accelerators (HailoRT, TensorRT, OpenVINO, TFLite, etc.).
  • Strong background in firmware/embedded development (C/C++, Python, Yocto, cross-compilation).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with hardware design and video/image processing pipelines (GStreamer, OpenCV, FFmpeg).
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and ability to influence across global stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
