Job Summary:
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Exercise Physiologist for our Cardiac Rehab located in Edgewood.
Shift/Hours: Full Time, 60 hours bi-weekly, 1st shift 7A-5:30P
Job Description:
The Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist assists in providing all therapy services assessed and planned for the clients by the Occupational Therapist and/or Physical Therapist. May function independently within the scope and objectives of the treatment plan.
  • Evaluates clients/patients, formulates goals, establishes treatment plans and ensure that the plan is implemented and documents in a timely manner. Will need to coordinate and communicate treatment plans and goals with Work Rehabilitation Team Leader/Cardiac Rehab team.
  • Maintains a professional image and is customer service oriented while performing day to day tasks.
  • Maintains open communication with all involved stakeholders including co-workers this may involve keeping their schedule current, attending case conferences and participating in discharge, planning and involving stakeholders in the decision-making process.
  • Responsible for daily documentation of patient progress reports, For BHC will meet with Team Leader or Manager of Therapy Services in the BHC to discuss and review patient progress and treatment plans. In Cardiac Rehab will work independently with Individual Treatment Plan
  • Participates in the continued growth of the program and as a professional through marketing efforts, tours of companies, attendance of in-services and continuing education.
  • Shall follow applicable safety steps required to perform their duties to ensure safety for themselves and their patients, and be in compliance with medical center, state, and federal safety standards.
  • Maintain expected level of productivity and demonstrate awareness of revenue/volume trends and accountability
  • Assisting in development and implementation of exercise prescriptions for executives as requested for Executive Physical program in BHC. In Cardiac Rehab assisting in development and implementation of exercise prescriptions for patients with Cardiac disease and multiple co-morbidities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • B.S. in Exercise Physiology at an Accredited School

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Exercise Physiology techniques and anticipated outcomes

Kind and Length of Experience:
  • On the job training
  • Working knowledge of nutrition, exercise, behavior change principles, weight management, health promotion counseling and educational techniques.
  • One year of work experience using EP practice/principals or successfully complete an internship in the field.

DESIRABLE
  • Masters' Degree in Exercise Physiology or Health Promotion
  • One or more years of experience as an Exercise Physiologist in Industrial Medicine, Rehabilitation or Cardiac Rehab
  • Experience with development and implantation of client/patient treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of work site health promotion strategies
