Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree or higher preferred. High School Diploma or GED with additional relevant experience and/or training may be acceptable. Experience supporting a superintendent, CEO, administrator or director.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of executive office practices, including managing schedules, correspondence, records, communications, and workflow.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business English, including composition, editing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and professional document formatting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in standard office technology and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and electronic communication systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete multiple assignments independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, exercise sound judgment, solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain effective working relationships through professional oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Physical and mental abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Demonstrates professionalism through a positive attitude, punctuality, appropriate appearance, and dependable work habits.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with staff, students, families, and the public.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
  • Remains composed, flexible, and effective while working under pressure, managing frequent interruptions, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($75 fee)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the Superintendent in carrying out administrative, operational, and organizational responsibilities.
  • Prepares, edits, processes, and maintains a variety of correspondence, reports, records, agendas, minutes, and other documents in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Coordinates the daily operations of the Superintendent's Office, including scheduling, communications, records management, and expenditure tracking and reconciliation.
  • Provides administrative support to the Board of Directors, district leadership and other committees, including coordinating meetings and preparing agendas, minutes, and supporting materials.
  • Coordinates meetings, events, trainings, and special projects with district, community and education partners.
  • Supports policy development and governance processes by preparing and maintaining policy documents, and managing the district's online policy manual.
  • Serves as liaison with organizations such as the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA), Northwest Regional ESD (NWRESD), Oregon Department of Education (ODE), and other professional organizations to meet regional or statewide responsibilities.
  • Provides leadership, coordination, training, and work direction to administrative support staff.
  • Responds to inquiries, collaborates with staff and external partners, participates in professional development and committee work, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must honor the confidential nature of the position.

EXPECTED START DATE:  September 8, 2026 

WAGES:  $30.98 per hour
