What we are looking for:
Pivotal Consulting is looking for an accomplished Project Manager to lead a complex, end-to-end rollout of Tap to Pay debit card capabilities across a debit card portfolio. This role will coordinate a broad, cross-functional program involving card processors, payment networks, technology teams, operations, fraud, risk, compliance, marketing, and customer support to ensure a smooth implementation from planning through launch and stabilization.

This person will oversee the program lifecycle, including strategy, planning, certification, deployment, customer communications, and post-launch support.
What you will do:
  • Lead the full delivery of the Tap to Pay debit card program from initiation through rollout and stabilization.
  • Build and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, dependencies, milestones, and risk logs.
  • Coordinate work across business, technology, vendor, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Establish program governance and deliver regular reporting to executive leadership.
  • Manage issue resolution, escalation paths, and decision tracking throughout the project.
  • Oversee implementation activities related to:
  • Contactless debit card issuance.
  • EMV and contactless card technology.
  • Card processor enhancements.
  • Mobile wallet enablement.
  • Card manufacturing and personalization.
  • Network certification and compliance requirements.

  • Work with payment networks such as Visa, Mastercard, and Discover to support certification and launch readiness.
  • Support testing strategy, user acceptance testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Partner with third-party vendors, card processors, personalization bureaus, and manufacturers to track deliverables and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and Fraud teams to address regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Drive operational readiness activities such as contact center training, branch training, process updates, customer communication, and continuity planning.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between internal teams, external partners, and executive sponsors.

What makes you a good fit:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in banking, payments, card services, or financial services.
  • Experience leading customer-facing banking product implementations.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor technology projects.
  • Experience with debit card, credit card, or payment processing programs.

Knowledge and skills:
  • Strong understanding of debit card issuing, EMV chip technology, contactless payments, payment network operations, digital wallet ecosystems, and card lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with banking regulatory, fraud, risk, and information security requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience leading contactless card implementations, EMV migration efforts, debit card portfolio modernization, or digital wallet deployments.
  • Experience with card processors such as Fiserv, FIS, TSYS, or Jack Henry.
  • Familiarity with Visa or Mastercard certification processes.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS and card network operating rules.
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methods.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Program Consultant, or SAFe Scrum Master.
