Overall Job Summary

Tractor Supply is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the country, and the brand is one of the Company's greatest competitive advantages. The Director of Creative Services will help bring that brand to life through compelling storytelling, exceptional creative, and inspiring leadership.

This role acts as a creative leader, balancing strategy with execution. The role will work closely with the VP, Creative to assist with translating brand strategy into meaningful campaigns and customer experiences across every touchpoint-from national brand campaigns and seasonal storytelling to retail, digital, CRM, loyalty, and emerging channels.

The Director will write, lead strategic creative initiatives, coach a talented team, solve operational challenges and partner across the business to keep high-impact creative moving.  This role will thrive in collaborative environments, and be comfortable writing a headline, developing a campaign concept, presenting to senior leaders, managing complex projects, mentoring talent, or solving challenges as they come.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Lead strategic creative initiatives by developing breakthrough concepts, writing compelling copy, and guiding integrated campaigns that connect business objectives with authentic customer storytelling.
  • Partner with the VP, Creative to translate brand strategy into high-quality creative work across brand campaigns, retail, digital, CRM, loyalty, seasonal marketing, and category storytelling.
  • Champion exceptional writing and storytelling, helping to evolve and protect Tractor Supply's distinctive brand voice.
  • Lead integrated creative work from concept through production, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure work is strategically aligned, delivered on time, and executed with excellence.
  • Coach and develop writers, designers, producers, and creative partners through thoughtful feedback, mentorship, and creative direction.
  • Help lead the creative workflow by partnering on intake, prioritization, resource planning, timelines, and project delivery across a fast-moving portfolio of work.
  • Collaborate across merchandising, marketing, media, digital, eCommerce, loyalty, and analytics teams to transform business priorities into impactful creative solutions.
  • Partner with agency and freelance teams to extend creative capabilities while maintaining consistency, quality, and brand integrity.
  • Use customer insights, business performance, and testing results to strengthen creative effectiveness and inform future work.
  • Leverage AI-enabled creative tools to accelerate ideation, improve efficiency, and expand creative exploration while ensuring final work reflects the Tractor Supply brand.
  • Partner in managing creative resources, agency relationships, budgets, tools, and processes that enable the team to deliver quality work with speed and efficiency.
  • Thrive as a creative generalist by seamlessly balancing writing, creative direction, project leadership, operational problem-solving, executive presentations, and team coaching as business needs evolve.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of creative services, advertising, brand marketing, or related experience with a strong foundation in copywriting, storytelling, and creative leadership. Experience leading creative teams while remaining hands-on in the work and managing agency and freelance partners.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field from an accredited college or university.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
