Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Communications Leadership role with experience in account management, communications, marketing, or public relations. Demonstrated experience preparing client reports, proposals, or strategic planning documents highly desired. Experience working within a fast-paced communications environment preferred.
Position Summary:
The Sr. Account Executive plays a leading role in advancing FirstDay Foundation's mission and the missions of our clients (affiliate companies) by serving as a trusted advisor and day-to-day point of contact for strategic communication and branding initiatives for clients assigned to Portfolio A.
This position is responsible for developing and executing compelling brand ecosystems, translating bold concepts into integrated communications strategies, and ensuring a consistent brand image that increases engagement and delivers measurable impact.
The Sr. Account Executive guides affiliate companies through brand positioning, storytelling, community engagement, and strategic communications. This role requires a proactive, forward-thinking professional who cultivates and leads a high-performing team and consistently anticipates client needs, identifies opportunities, and aligns communications initiatives with their client's organizational outcomes such as awareness, fundraising, advocacy, and engagement.
Essential Functions and Measurable Deliverables:
1. Lead collaborative efforts with internal team members to support strategic planning and integrated communications initiatives across client accounts within Portfolio A.
2. Serve as the primary contact to assigned organizations, understanding each client's goals and objectives and engaging with them as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor.
3. Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans aligned with each affiliate's organizational goals and objectives and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
4. Ensure all communications are clear, concise, on-brand, and maintain a consistent brand image and voice across all platforms including media relations, digital strategy, creative development, and public relations.
5. Review communications materials to ensure quality, accuracy, tone, and brand consistency prior to client delivery.
6. Provide proactive recommendations informed by industry trends, competitive intelligence, and communication best practices.
7. Work with clients to provide market research and campaign planning strategies that are aligned with the client's objectives and measurable outcomes.
8. Support mission-driven storytelling and messaging strategies that strengthen the client organization's voice and promote audience engagement.
9. Oversee multiple concurrent projects, managing scope, timelines, budgets, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
10. Create and provide supporting documentation to clients, to include weekly status reports, billing summaries, delivery timelines, meeting agendas, meeting reports, project recaps, project estimates, and other relevant documents as needed throughout a project lifecycle.
11. Translate client goals, feedback, and revisions into actionable insights and direction for internal team members to produce tailored, high-quality outputs.
12. Support affiliates with messaging, proposal development, presentations, press releases, media advisories, and other communication mechanisms.
13. Prepare and present strategic updates, reports, and performance insights connecting communications efforts to organizational impact and opportunities to expand client partnerships.
14. Cultivate community awareness by staying informed on local happenings, attending relevant community events, and engaging with chambers of commerce, city officials, business councils, and other community stakeholders as appropriate.
15. Support client participation in community and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
16. Provide communications support for events, including collateral, signage, scripts, and social media promotions, as appropriate.
17. Capture event content and collaborate with creative team members to develop event recaps and storytelling assets.
