Job Description
The Director of Auxiliary Services serves as the departmental administrator for a diverse portfolio of campus services and is accountable for efficient operations, strategic development, financial sustainability, customer service, vendor performance, asset and materials management, and personnel administration. The Director establishes goals and performance measures, evaluates results, adjusts operating strategies, and ensures services support TMCC's mission, strategic goals, and service expectations.
Scope of Responsibility

• Bookstore operations, including vendor-operated services; Café Food Services, Coffee Bar, Food Truck vendors, Concessions, and Vending Services.
• Mail Services; Procurement and Receiving; Fixed Asset Inventory; and Print Services.
• Vehicle Fleet Services and DMV reporting; transportation and shuttle services; and other self-supporting Auxiliary Services programs.

Provides leadership and supervision to approximately five direct reports and may have responsibility for up to approximately 37 employees, including managers, supervisors, professional staff, classified employees, and student employees
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Direct day-to-day Auxiliary Services operations; establish and refine goals, service standards, performance measures, and operating procedures; assess program effectiveness; resolve routine operational and customer-service issues; and identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, improved service, and greater financial self-sufficiency.
Leadership, Supervision, and Staff Development: Hire, train, develop, support, supervise, and evaluate assigned employees; mentor subordinate managers and supervisors; promote collaboration, accountability, professionalism, inclusion, service excellence, succession planning, and continuous improvement; and ensure timely completion of performance-management and human-capital responsibilities.
Financial Management and Budget Oversight: Lead budgeting and capital planning; administer program accounts; monitor and adjust budgets in response to revenue, expenses, personnel, and operational needs; develop forecasts and financial analyses; review reconciliations and correct discrepancies; maintain internal controls and segregation of duties; support fiscal year-end close; and promote financial sustainability and profitability where applicable.
Capital Planning, Asset Management, Procurement, and Materials Management: Develop capital recommendations; coordinate capital planning with the Associate Vice President; oversee fixed assets, materials management, procurement, receiving, and related controls; evaluate equipment and infrastructure needs using safety, service, ROI, lifecycle, and institutional-priority considerations.
Vendor, Contractor, and Supplier Management: Oversee vendor and contractor relationships; participate in solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, implementation, and administration of contracts and agreements; monitor contractual compliance and service performance; and advise senior management on significant vendor, negotiation, and performance matters.
Workday, Policy, Compliance, and Internal Controls: Perform assigned departmental approvals and transactions, including requisitions, PCard transactions, supplier invoices, independent contractor requests, time-off, recruitment and personnel actions, evaluations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Implement and revise departmental policies, procedures, service standards, controls, and training; ensure compliance with applicable laws, NSHE/TMCC requirements, and contractual obligations.
Service-Area Leadership
Food Services and Concessions: Lead Café Food Services, multi-site food operations, Coffee Bar, Food Truck vendors, Concessions, and related services. Ensure compliance with health, safety, contractual, financial, sustainability, and customer-service requirements; monitor performance and financial results; and advance sustainable dining practices and certifications.
Bookstore: Provide institutional oversight of Bookstore operations, including vendor-operated services. Monitor contractual, financial, operational, and customer-service performance; support bookstore initiatives and communications; coordinate campus-facing information; and address service or compliance concerns in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
Mail, Receiving, Transportation, and Fleet: Manage Mail Services and Receiving to ensure timely, accurate, efficient delivery of mail, packages, and materials. Oversee fleet and transportation programs, outsourced contracts, utilization, maintenance, safety, cost effectiveness, routes, service demand, and long-term delivery-model planning.
Communications and Campus Engagement: Serve as the primary content provider for Auxiliary Services web pages and public-facing information. Advise the Associate Vice President on complex operational, financial, customer-service, vendor, and contract matters; lead short-, mid-, and long-term planning; solicit stakeholder input; collaborate across the College; participate in committees, professional associations, state meetings, community partnerships, and external meetings; and represent TMCC professionally.
Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship: Advance waste reduction, energy conservation, responsible and environmentally preferable purchasing, sustainable food-service practices, and applicable sustainability certifications, including KTMB Green Business Certification for Café Verde and the William N. Pennington Applied Technology Center Green Canteen.
Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in business management, business administration, or a related field and three (3) years of relevant professional experience;

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business management, business administration, or a related field and five (5) years of relevant professional experience;

-OR-

• Associate degree in a related field and seven (7) years of substantial progressively responsible experience in business management or a closely related field.

• Two (2) years of the above experience must have been in a supervisory or management capacity
• Demonstrated knowledge of auxiliary services or comparable multi-function business operations; leadership and organizational skills; budget management and financial analysis; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; and ability to manage multiple operational areas, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of supervisory experience, preferably including responsibility for at least twenty-five (25) employees and supervision of multiple managers or supervisors.
• Governmental or public-sector budgeting and purchasing; post-secondary education experience; and responsibility for annual operating budgets exceeding $1 million.
• Executive-level report writing and analysis; computerized maintenance, asset-management, ERP, or comparable systems; sustainability initiatives; and administration of vendor-operated, outsourced, or self-supporting business operations.

Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary: $100,131 - $125,164, initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience
