About The Valor Club: The Valor Club offers three distinct golf experiences: Falcon Crest Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course; the Freedom Course, a shorter nine-hole layout; and the Cadet Course, a nine-hole executive course.


FALCON CREST CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE

Majestic vistas and memorable fairways will make this course a Treasure Valley favorite. A golf oasis, the Falcon Championship blends natural terrain with sand, water and stone. With views overlooking the Boise Valley and surrounding mountains, it’s easy to see why it was ranked ’07 Golfweek’s Best. A “Must Play” golf course, each hole will make for a memorable experience!


THE FREEDOM COURSE

A brand-new nine-hole course (par 34) that has a deep history and honor in the community. Serving as a tribute to the original owner’s late son and the brave men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. THE CADET COURSE

An executive par 3 course designed for the beginning golfer and junior player, however; will challenge anyone. Whether you’re working on your short game or just starting your golf addiction, you won’t be disappointed with this course. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Associate degree in Turfgrass Management or similar field required. A bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


The Director of Agronomy is responsible for the agronomics producing the playing conditions outlined in the course’s business plans. The Director of Agronomy will attract and develop talent at all levels of golf course maintenance to create a highly functional team. This individual will also focus on the business of agronomy, technology, continuing education and long-term strategic planning.

  • 7+ years turf grass management experience required.
  • 5+ years of multi-course experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices, working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices, and methods, and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
  • Ability to develop agronomic plans and course standard programs, both short and long-term, in compliance with the course’s business goals along. Capability to teach course superintendents on how to build these plans, including the focus on business results.
  • Exceptional record-keeping and data-driven analysis of maintenance practices linking agronomic decisions directly to course conditioning and the club’s financial performance.
  • Advanced knowledge of entire golf course financials; including budgets, monthly tracking, P&L statements, cash flow statements, short- & long-term capital planning, balance sheets, general ledgers, inventories and other necessary reporting tools.
  • Highly competent with computer and phone application use, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), payroll, accounting, compliance, data management, and other relevant applications such as irrigation system(s) programming, operation and management.
  • Extensive history of growing turfgrass industry professionals into promotions including Golf Course Superintendents.
  • Audubon International certification experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices with the ability to teach others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • A strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business.
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Idaho certification and licensing as a pesticide applicator within 90 days.
  • Participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, field days, and trade shows.
  • Highly effective presentation skills to teach continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, field days, and trade shows.
  • Completes recruiting presentations for high schools, FFA, college and other opportunities for both The Valor Club and Century Golf Partners.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety every day.
