1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:The Head of Business Data is the executive leader responsible for business data governance, data management, reporting, analytics, and data enablement for the Office of Corporate & Administrative Affairs, Government Affairs, and Legal. Serving as the Business Data Executive for these functions, this role shapes and executes the data strategy, advances data quality and governance, enables regulatory and business reporting, and delivers insights that support strategic decision-making and risk management.
This role provides leadership for data governance and data strategy across the supported functions, driving data delivery, operational excellence, and a data-driven culture. The Head of Business Data partners closely with business leaders to improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making through the effective use of data and analytics while ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards and priorities.
The Head of Business Data must effectively communicate and engage with senior leaders, senior governance committees, regulators, and possible external stakeholders on data-related matters. Success in the role requires the ability to influence without authority, negotiate competing priorities, and build strong partnerships across business, legal, risk, compliance, technology, and operations teams to deliver enterprise-aligned data solutions and capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Develop and execute the business unit/corporate functions (BU/CF) data & analytics strategy and roadmap. This includes coordination with the Chief Business BU/CF CDO, and Chief Divisional Technology, Data, and Operations Officer to align the strategy with the business vision and priorities.
2. Partner across C-Level executive business leaders to transform the business through cultivating data driven decision-making and enabling data analytics to re-engineer processes to grow and sustain the business.
3. Coordinate with the Chief Data Governance Officer to align BU/CF roadmap to data governance priorities, roadmap, and risk/regulatory commitments.
4. Provide regular updates to C-Level BU/CF executives and business unit risk committees related progress across key business initiatives and data risk in relation to appetite.
5. Drive accountability within the BU/CF for data ownership and sound data management practices including partnering with business leaders to resolve open data issues and sub-issues.
6. Own and maintain the BU/CF inventory of data critical business process and partner with process owners to drive adherence to governance requirements.
7. Oversee the business data stewards and partner across the company to implement and sustain data governance requirements across data critical processes and critical data elements.
8. Oversee implementation of the enterprise data strategy within the BU/CF and partner with business leaders to drive modernization efforts, AI enablement, and consumption of data from governed data sources.
9. Manage and execute innovation across data analytics, data science (AI / ML), reporting and modeling.
10. Partner with the AI & Data Office to define the target state tools, solutions, and capabilities to execute on the business strategy.
11. Partner across Truist to achieve the business unit data strategy and roadmap objectives, while bringing best in class industry practices to improve people, process and technology.
12. Accountable to manage the business analytics, data science, data stewards and reporting teams
13. Maintain knowledge of emerging industry and technologies while bringing those new practices to Truist.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Undergraduate degree in either computer science, information systems, analytics, data engineering, finance or equivalent degree.
2. Ten years of data management experience inclusive of driving enterprise data strategy, data execution, data engineering or software delivery.
3. Expert problem solving skills and being able to define detailed strategies
4. Experience in financial services or payments industry
5. Experience in meeting regulatory obligations and operating in a highly regulatory environment
6. Experience partnering with C-Level executives to accomplish business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Expert in solution designs based upon business requirements
2. Experience in building financial services strategy
3. Experience in leading business data governance across processes and solutions.
4. Experience in data architecture, solution architecture and / or designing enterprise business processes
5. Skills demonstrated in data engineering, computer engineering, data transformation (ETL), digital transformation and cloud computing.

The annual base salary for this position is $180,000 to $250,000
