Job description
As a Data ScientistorSenior Data Scientist - Federal, you will work with some of the largest organizations on the planet to help them build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise applications. You will work directly with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts to define new analytics capabilities able to provide our federal customers with the information they need to make proper decisions and enable their digital transformation.
Qualified candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of common machine learning techniques and their application. Candidates should also understand the limitations of these algorithms and how to tweak them or derive from them to achieve similar results at large-scale. C3 AI Data Scientists are equipped with modern development tools, IDEs, and AI agents to maximize productivity and accelerate solution delivery.
This role requires US Citizenship
Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of Machine Learning algorithms, intelligent agents, or optimization solutions for enterprise applications leveraging the C3 AI Suite.
- Assist and enable C3 AI's federal customers to build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new features of the C3 AI Suite.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship (and willingness to obtain a security clearance)
- Bachelor's in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research or equivalent fields.
- Applied Machine Learning experience (regression and classification, supervised and unsupervised learning).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Confident presenter, capable of articulating insights, results, and strategies to stakeholders, executives, and customers in high-stakes or strategic settings.
- Strong mathematical background (statistics, linear algebra, calculus, probability, and optimization).
- Ability to dive into a large ML codebase to debug and improve it.
- Ability to drive a projectand workbothindependently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research or equivalent fields.
- Active TS/SCI with CI or Full-Scope Polygraph
- Experience with deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or application of large language models (RAG, Agentic, etc.).
- Understanding of optimization (constrained, stochastic, convex and non-convex optimization problems)
- Experience working with modern IDEs and AI agent tools as part of accelerated development workflows.
C3 AI provides a competitive compensation package and excellent benefits.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.
