Lab Manager /Systems AdministratorIntroduction:
Our Arlington, VA based client is looking for a Lab Manager / Systems Administrator to oversee Linux systems and manage the lab environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in system administration, automation, and security compliance.
Responsibilities:- Serve as a Linux Systems Administrator overseeing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments across development, lab, and production systems.
- Perform large scale configuration management and deployment across multiple operating systems to support infrastructure.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment.
- Provide ongoing systems administration, technical support, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting services.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and workflows for automation.
- Administer and maintain Splunk Enterprise/Splunk Cloud for system monitoring and security analytics.
- Implement security controls, access management, and audit configurations for systems.
- Develop dashboards and alerts in Splunk for proactive monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage problems across the enterprise.
- Manage project components to deliver services according to objectives.
- Advise on the development of lab standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret clearance, TS/SCI clearance preferred
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
- 5+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator
- 3+ years of experience with Splunk Enterprise administration
- 3+ years of experience with Ansible automation
- Collaborative work across physical locations
Desired Skills:
- Experience with writing technical procedures and SOPs
- Virtualization automation and optimization
- Experience with multiple operating systems (Linux/Unix, Windows, MacOS)
