Job description

Position Summary

The Laundry Attendant plays an essential role in supporting hotel operations by ensuring clean, well-maintained linens, towels, and other laundry items are consistently available for guest rooms and hotel departments. This position is responsible for operating commercial laundry equipment, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a representative list of duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.


Laundry Operations

  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and ironing equipment according to established safety and operating procedures.
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, press, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items while maintaining quality standards.
  • Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and pre-treat stained items before laundering.
  • Separate laundry by color, fabric type, and wash requirements to ensure proper care.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens for guest rooms and hotel operations.


Inventory and Organization

  • Load clean linens onto designated carts and distribute them to the appropriate departments as needed.
  • Collect, sort, and process soiled linens from housekeeping and other hotel areas.
  • Keep laundry carts clean, organized, and free of debris.
  • Report damaged linens or equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.


Equipment and Workplace Maintenance

  • Clean lint traps, laundry equipment, and work areas daily to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
  • Follow all hotel safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals and laundry products.
  • Assist in maintaining laundry equipment by reporting maintenance needs promptly.


Guest Service and Teamwork

  • Maintain a positive, professional, and courteous attitude when interacting with guests, associates, and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Ability to operate or learn commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members.
  • Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience.
  • Experience working with commercial laundry equipment.
  • Familiarity with hotel cleanliness and quality standards.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • This position is based on property in Bentonville, AR.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout an entire shift.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular exposure to commercial laundry equipment, cleaning chemicals, heat, humidity, and moderate noise levels.
