Senior Project Engineer

The B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) Aircraft Integration Office (AIO) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (internally known as Program Integration Manager, PIM) to join our team and make an immediate impact on urgent and long-term development, integration, and production issues.
This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the CERP Program's top-level goals, initiatives, and challenges. The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible for one or more projects and will provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the Program on technical issues requiring cross-functional and cross-organization leadership. You should be willing to take on projects that you may not have a full technical understanding of and stretch beyond your experience base.
You will have opportunities to lead and collaborate with people from all over the world, to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead special projects and initiatives in the areas of safety, certification, and performance as well as program issues as directed by the Program Chief Program Engineer and Director of Engineering
  • Aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Mission Systems, Propulsion, or Systems Experience with certification, working with FAA regulations and Regulatory Administration
  • Develop integrated plans, establish and lead teams, monitor and respond to technical developments throughout the life of a customer introduction program
  • Manage risk & opportunities, and support cross-functional & cross-Integrated Product Team issues
  • Lead cross-functional technical integration, certification and project management in support of resolving complex issues to help deliver airplanes, return airplanes into service, resolve supply chain issues, mitigate risks, actualize opportunities, delivery and production stream sustainability
  • Lead detailed investigations to ensure system integration and compliance, with requirements and to preclude safety issues
  • Communicate routinely with Internal and External Customers (peers, stakeholders, senior and executive leadership), Regulators and/or suppliers

This position will be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 14+ years' experience performing complex engineering or system integration work
  • 9+ years' experience in leading and/or managing complex projects
  • 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers and business partners
  • Ability to travel 10% - primarily domestic. There may be short durations where travel needs exceed this value.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working across a team representing multiple skill areas with internal and external resources and customers is preferred
  • Experience with complex systems development and integration preferred Experience with leading project execution to complete the work statement is preferred
  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)
  • Good communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiative without supervision
  • Adaptable and able to operate in a dynamic environment to meet objectives on time
  • Military certification experience working with MIL-HDBK-516
  • Project Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI 99-001-2008)
  • Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplines
  • Take ownership/initiative, pull teams together, establish battle rhythm and remove roadblocks
