PCG Consulting International partners with healthcare organizations to solve complex operational, technology, and business challenges that improve financial performance and patient care PCG Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Business Analyst to support a large-scale hospital revenue recovery and operational stabilization initiative.


This consultant will work closely with clinical, financial, operational, and technical stakeholders to analyze current business processes, document system requirements, identify operational gaps, and support improvements across the hospital revenue cycle.


The Senior Healthcare Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring that clinical, billing, financial, and operational requirements are accurately documented and translated into actionable solutions that improve hospital performance and reimbursement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze hospital business processes across clinical, operational, financial, and revenue cycle departments.
  • Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workflow discovery sessions.
  • Develop current-state and future-state process maps.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies affecting billing, reimbursement, and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, HIM, Coding, Patient Financial Services, IT, and Finance teams.
  • Support data validation, business process analysis, and workflow redesign.
  • Assist with claim reconstruction and revenue recovery initiatives by documenting operational processes.
  • Create business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and gap analyses.
  • Participate in solution design reviews, testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to project leadership.

Engagement Details
  • Project-Based W2 consulting employment.
  • Work is expected to be performed primarily remotely.
  • Occasional onsite meetings or working sessions in the Chicago metropolitan area may be required.
  • Several-month engagement with the possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing workflow diagrams, process maps, and gap analyses.
  • Knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, HIM, coding, billing, patient accounting, or reimbursement workflows.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare consulting experience.
  • Experience supporting revenue cycle optimization or recovery initiatives.
  • Experience with Paragon, Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, or similar hospital systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, or healthcare analytics.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications.
