FocusOne

Job description

FocusOne is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) based in Northwest Houston, providing credit unions with the operational expertise and infrastructure they need to serve their members well. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Vice President of Servicing to lead our servicing operations and ensure the credit unions and members we support receive best-in-class service. This is an opportunity to bring your leadership and industry expertise to an organization where your decisions directly shape the member experience for the credit unions we partner with.
FocusOne Mortgage Servicing, LLC (FOMS) is standing up its servicing operation on the Black Knight / ICE MSP platform while concurrently converting and boarding multiple sizable loan portfolios from disparate legacy systems with significant source-data quality challenges. The Vice President of Mortgage Servicing owns both the platform implementation and multi-portfolio conversion effort and the ongoing, steady-state servicing operation — for FOMS’s own portfolio and its credit-union subservicing clients. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, not a caretaker position. The successful candidate has personally led full-scale servicing conversions onto MSP and can simultaneously operate a complex subservicing shop day to day.

Overview
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the VP of Mortgage Servicing is responsible for all aspects of FOMS servicing operations — including the successful implementation of MSP, the conversion and boarding of loans from multiple source systems, regulatory compliance, investor and subservicing-client reporting, risk management, and exceptional member service.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Implementation & Portfolio Conversion
  • Lead the end-to-end stand-up of the Black Knight / ICE MSP servicing platform, including configuration, system integrations, and go-live readiness.
  • Own the concurrent conversion and boarding of multiple loan portfolios from disparate source systems (e.g., FICS Mortgage Servicer, Fiserv DNA, Correlation, or comparable servicing/core platforms).
  • Direct data mapping, extract validation, mock/trial conversions, parallel testing, balancing, reconciliation, and exception clearing across each portfolio.
  • Diagnose and remediate poor-quality inbound loan data; establish controls to ensure loans board accurately and completely.
  • Manage cutover planning and execution, including go/no-go decisioning, contingency planning, and post-conversion validation.
  • Coordinate across investors, prior servicers, vendors, and internal teams to hit conversion milestones and the target go-live date.
Servicing Operations
  • Oversee all servicing functions: payment processing and cashiering, escrow administration and analysis, payoffs, ARM/rate changes, investor accounting, loss mitigation, default management, and foreclosure/bankruptcy oversight.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to drive accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Compliance & Regulatory
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable servicing regulations, including RESPA/Reg X, TILA/Reg Z, CFPB servicing rules, FDCPA, ECOA, and investor/GSE servicing guidelines.
  • Maintain servicing policies, procedures, and controls; support internal and external audits and regulatory exams.
Investor & Subservicing-Client Management
  • Manage investor and GSE reporting and remittance (FNMA/FHLMC), including custodial account administration and reconciliation.
  • Serve as the servicing lead for credit-union subservicing clients, ensuring accurate multi-client reporting, SLA performance, and strong relationship management.
Risk Management
  • Develop and implement risk controls across operational, compliance, and credit risk; monitor KPIs and metrics and remediate issues proactively.
Member Experience
  • Champion a member-centric servicing experience with timely, accurate resolution of inquiries, disputes, and escalations.
Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with servicing technology, print/mail, and professional-services vendors; hold vendors accountable to SLAs and contractual obligations.
Financial & Team Leadership
  • Assist the EVP in developing and managing the servicing budget; analyze performance metrics to support decision-making.
  • Build, lead, and develop the servicing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on Black Knight / ICE MSP experience is required — as an implementation lead or system administrator, not solely as an end user.
  • Proven, personal leadership of at least two full-scale servicing platform implementations or conversions, ideally including a conversion onto MSP.
  • Demonstrated experience boarding/converting loans from multiple disparate source systems (e.g., FICS, Fiserv DNA, Correlation, or comparable servicing/core platforms).
  • Experience managing concurrent / multiple-portfolio conversions under an aggressive timeline.
  • Demonstrated ability to remediate poor-quality source data — data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, balancing, and exception resolution.
  • 12+ years of mortgage servicing experience, including 5+ years in a senior servicing leadership role.
  • Deep working knowledge of servicing regulations (RESPA/Reg X, TILA/Reg Z, CFPB servicing rules, FDCPA) and GSE servicing requirements.
  • Full-lifecycle servicing operations expertise (payment processing, escrow, default/loss mitigation, investor accounting and reporting).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Subservicing and/or GSE seller-servicer (FNMA/FHLMC) environment experience.
  • Credit union / CUSO servicing experience.
  • Experience standing up a servicing operation or subservicing entity from the ground up.
  • Multi-state servicing (TX, LA, NM, OK) and familiarity with Texas constitutional homestead lending (50(a)(6) / 50(a)(5)).
  • Experience with print/mail vendor management and borrower statement/notice composition.
