Job description

Associate Dean, Undergraduate & Graduate Programs, Lucas College of Business

The Associate Dean for Undergraduate & Graduate Programs in the College of Business reports directly to and is supervised by the Dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business (LCoB). The Associate Dean is a member of the LCoB management team in partnership with the Associate Dean of Faculty and Accreditation, the Director of Resources & Operations (DRO), and the Dean of the College of Business. The Associate Dean is the administrative head of the undergraduate, graduate, professional and executive education programs within the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business (LCoB). The office holder is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Undergraduate and Graduate Business Programs and, as part of the College's management team, may assume the role of the Dean in absence. At the direction of the Dean, the Associate Dean will represent the College with other management personnel in the University, Deans and their representatives from other CSU campuses, and the broader business community.

The Associate Dean for Undergraduate & Graduate Programs participates in strategic planning of, and is responsible for, all domestic and international undergraduate, graduate and non-degree educational activities and programs of the Lucas College. Current degree programs in the School include the undergraduate program with 14 different concentrations and various graduate programs.

These include an MBA offered in two formats (Early career MBA state-supported program and MBA for Professionals special session program), an MS in Accountancy & Analytics (state-supported program), an MS in Financial Analytics (state-supported program), an MS in Taxation (special session program), and an MS in Transportation Management (special session program), and three partner programs: MS Medical Product Development Management, MS Engineering Management, and MS Biotechnology. Current non-degree programs offered by the School include advanced certificates in accounting (Accounting Fundamentals and Advanced Accounting Topics), Business Analytics, Global Leadership, taxation (Advanced Taxation, High Technology Taxation, International Taxation, and Tax Practice), and transportation management (High-speed Rail Management, Transportation Management, and Transportation Safety, Security, & Emergency Management). The Lucas Graduate School of Business is also a partner institution of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Consortium, a partnership of 15 international Business Schools delivering an annual simultaneous one-week module of education and experiential activities for professionals. The LCoB also offers custom executive/professional education programs to several international academic partners.

The incumbent should possess leadership and management skills, the ability to implement plans determined by the College management team and its faculty members, the ability to communicate their vision of the college, and the desire to work collaboratively with the College's students and faculty at large in an open and transparent manner.

This position requires adherence to University compliance training such as: Conflict of Interest and Ethics training, AB 1825 Sexual Harassment Prevention training, Information Security training, and Injury and Illness Prevention Program training.
