Description:

Position Summary: Line Cook is responsible for ensuring a high standard of food quality and presentation. Must be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for food and a keen eye for detail. They are responsible for each station’s workflow and getting meals out on time. They oversee the cooking process from start to finish and determine how much time each step requires. They must know all the steps for their station to time their food preparation steps correctly. They must prepare food and components to be ready for cooking by frying, grilling, baking, or sautéing. They must set up and stock their cooking area with all the essential items.

· Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

· Prepare food for service (chop vegetables, butcher meat, or prepare sauces).

· Report and follow Executive Chef’s recipes and instructions.

· Stock inventory appropriately according to par levels.

· Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, of high quality and in a timely manner.

· Ensure promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes.

· Organizing kitchen for effective work environment.

· Effective communication to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen.

· Perform other responsibilities as required or directed.

Qualifications/Skills/Education/Certifications/Experience:

· Required Qualifications/Skills

o Maintain cordial and effective relationships with co-workers, vendors, and other business contacts.

o Knowledgeable of back of house operations

o Effectively interacts with others by utilizing excellent communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information as needed, to achieve the business goals of the organization.

o Ability to build strong relationships/alliances with all team members.

o Excellent time management skills.

o Strong interpersonal skills.

o Professional verbal and written skills.

o Current Driver License.

o Current Food Handlers Certification.

· Preferred Education and Experience

o High School Diploma or equivalency determined by management.

o At least one year of previous cooking experience in fine dining.
