Role Summary
The Senior Director of Contract Finance Operations serves as the senior finance leader directly beneath the VP of Finance, with responsibility for translating financial strategy into execution across the organization. This role provides direct oversight of Regional Controllers and ensures consistency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations across approximately $750M in annual revenue and growing.
This individual acts as the primary escalation point for operational finance matters, drives standardization across regions, and ensures timely, accurate financial reporting while strengthening controls, forecasting, and analytical rigor.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Oversight
  • Directly manage and mentor Regional Controllers.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex accounting and operational issues.
  • Drive accountability, performance standards, and professional development.
  • Represent Finance Operations in cross-functional meetings.

2. Financial Close, Reporting & Controls
  • Own the monthly and annual close process across all regions.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of financial statements.
  • Oversee balance sheet integrity and reconciliation processes.
  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate external audits and regulatory inquiries as required.

3. Standardization & Process Improvement
  • Standardize accounting policies and financial reporting across regions.
  • Lead process improvement and scalability initiatives.
  • Partner on ERP optimization and system enhancements.
  • Develop repeatable forecasting and job costing frameworks.

4. Forecasting, Budgeting & Analysis
  • Oversee regional forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Review and challenge assumptions, variances, and trends.
  • Deliver consolidated insights highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Support long-range planning and scenario analysis.

5. Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
  • Support M&A integration and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Ensure finance operates as a proactive business partner.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 10-15+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience.
  • Experience overseeing multi-region or multi-entity organizations.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and close processes.
  • Strong systems aptitude (ERP, reporting tools, data governance).

Preferred:
  • Experience in a $500M+ revenue environment.
  • Background in operationally complex, project-based businesses.
  • ERP implementation or finance transformation experience.
