Required Education: (Minimum for hire) High school or equivalent
Job Description:
Technical support authority for all matters pertaining to the on-site maintenance and operations of Audio/Video (A/V) architecture, Video Teleconference (VTC) Suites, Streaming Media, Cable TV, and Video wall systems at US Central Command (CENTCOM) MacDill AFB Tampa, FL.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain functionality of A/V systems (identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any failures).
  • Maintain all AV systems to full operational capability. Troubleshoot and repair any A/V equipment issues.
  • Maintain detailed troubleshooting log of all failures and resolution activities.
  • Maintain periodic maintenance and inspection (PMI) log.
  • Provide issue/trouble resolution within one (1) week; or provide notification to Project Lead along with supporting documentation of progress for extended outages.
  • Maintain accurate inventory lists of all A/V equipment and software; record serial numbers of new equipment and equipment that breaks and/or is replaced.
  • Utilize, interpret, generate and share drawings, documentation and lessons learned from/with team members at the other sites in order to maintain and strengthen the enterprise.
  • Provide operator training as required.
  • Provide status reports and PMI log to supervisor on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct DRMO as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in O&M of A/V equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting drawings, specifications, blueprints, and other related documents.
  • Knowledgeable in the following fields within the past 5 years:
    - Install low voltage wiring and cable; solder and terminate connectors; wire equipment racks
    - Assembly of equipment/devices using the appropriate supports/mounts
    - Integration of audio and video teleconferencing systems
    - Cable termination (Fiber, copper, audio, etc.)
    - Analog, SDI and HD SDI signal processing and conversion
  • Required Training/Certifications include:
    - DoD 8570 compliance (must be met within 3 months of start date):
    - CompTIA Security+ CE certification required
    - Crestron DMC-E Training certification (desired)
  • Must Have a TS/SCI clearance
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Self-starter/motivated individual; ability to work independently
  • Ability to work within a flexible team environment with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of project support staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task among several projects while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, as well as establish and maintain a strong customer focused working relationship.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Will be required to work nights and weekends occasionally as mission dictates.

Desired Qualification:
  • Eight (8) years' experience in operation and maintenance of A/V systems, VTC and video wall equipment.
  • Knowledge of Crestron control systems.
  • Knowledge of Extron AV peripherals.
  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work with and support Senior Military personnel

  • Typical office environment with other support personnel.
  • Must be able to sit, bend or stand at a workstation for extended periods.
  • Occasional standing for extended periods of time while working in server rooms or at patch panels.
  • Must be able to lift and move moderately heavy equipment (e.g., routers, switches, servers) typically up to 30-50 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity required for connecting cables, configuring devices, and handling small tools or components.
  • Must be able to view computer screens for long periods.
  • Ability to distinguish color-coded cabling and indicator lights.
  • Must be able to climb ladders or crawl in tight spaces for cable runs or equipment installation.
  • May require walking between different buildings or workstations.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with technical teams and end-users.
  • May need to hear alarms, server beeps, or equipment noises indicating issues
