Job description

A well-capitalized, highly respected insurance platform is seeking a Vice President, Actuarial Modeling & Reinsurance Onboarding to lead a critical function supporting Bermuda EBS valuation, actuarial model development, and the onboarding of complex new reinsurance transactions. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced actuary who wants broad impact across valuation, modeling, data, reporting, and commercial execution.

This role will manage a team of 5 professionals across Boston and New York. The position offers strong executive visibility, meaningful ownership, and exposure to high-priority strategic initiatives across a sophisticated life and annuity platform. Minimal travel to Bermuda.

What Youll Do

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and governance of actuarial models supporting Bermuda EBS valuation
  • Partner closely with actuarial, pricing, finance, reporting, data, and technology teams to improve modeling accuracy, controls, and process efficiency
  • Drive assumption updates, model changes, validation efforts, and production support across valuation processes
  • Oversee data integration workflows, including ETL, mapping, and validation routines that support reliable valuation outputs
  • Support cash flow model development, testing, and issue resolution during production cycles
  • Lead key components of new reinsurance deal onboarding, including pricing-to-valuation handoff, model readiness, and interim reporting support
  • Help scale onboarding, automation, and control frameworks to support future deal activity and broader enterprise modeling needs

What Were Looking For

  • FSA/FCAS or equivalent actuarial fellowship required
  • Relevant actuarial experience
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. life and annuity products, including products such as FA, FIA, VA, RILA, SPIA/payout annuities, PRT, UL, VUL, and IUL
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, Bermuda EBS, and U.S. statutory valuation principles and methodologies
  • Experience with actuarial modeling, valuation, governance, controls, and financial reporting support

Why This Opportunity

  • Highly visible VP-level seat with meaningful leadership scope
  • Direct impact on both Bermuda valuation infrastructure and new business onboarding
  • Attractive total compensation structure, including a strong base, annual bonus, retirement match, and long-term incentive opportunity.
