JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Manage Trading activity by formulating strategies and executing physical and paper trades to achieve commercial objectives for [Relevant Product] within set risk and resource parameters.
Hold accountability for profit/loss generated from trading activity agreed with Global Head of [Relevant Product]
When necessary, oversee Trading Activity of Traders & Lead Traders to assist Global Head of [Relevant Product] monitor the financial performance of the global portfolio
KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Agree scope of Trading Activity to be managed with Global Head of [Relevant Product] along with relevant commercial objectives, growth areas and risk thresholds.
  • Formulate trading strategy for individual trading activity and execute physical and paper trades to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Assist Traders & Lead Traders formulate trading strategies for their trading activity and facilitate negotiations with customers when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations governing trading activities.
  • Monitor and adapt trade execution in timely fashion considering lates market trends and competitor behavior.
  • Engage with Middle Office to enable accurate recording of trades and ensure accurate P&L and Exposure reporting.

COMMUNICATION
Internal Communication
  • Regularly communicate with team members to discuss trading strategies and coordinate trade execution.
  • Provide updates to the Book Leader and other relevant stakeholders on trade performance and risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Finance, Operations, and Compliance to ensure alignment and compliance with company policies and procedures.

External Communication
  • Engage in negotiations with counterparties and clients to finalize trade agreements and contracts.
  • Communicate with external vendors and service providers to facilitate trade execution and resolve any operational issues.
  • When necessary, interact with regulatory bodies and industry organizations to stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Skills (Required, Preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, or Economics.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues efficiently, especially in high-pressure trading environments.
  • Precision and thoroughness in analyzing data, contracts, and market trends to make informed trading decisions

Preferred
  • Proficiency in trading systems and software as well as Microsoft Excel

Experience and Knowledge (Required, Preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of physical and / or derivatives trading experience for [Relevant Product]
  • Understanding of product demand, supply, shipping, storage & logistics for relevant trading area and product
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing commodity trading, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
  • Well-connected with end-users and counterparties worldwide
