Position Summary:
TheTax Manager will assist, review, and maintain all corporate tax compliance,reporting, and audits
All aspects of federal and state income tax provisions (EBS, GAAP and Statutory basis, current and deferred income taxes)
All aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance (income, premium, federal excise, property and use taxes, etc., as well as any federal and state government tax audits)
Assistance in explaining results to Senior Management and the Board of Directors
Participating in transaction related issues and tax planning initiatives
Role Responsibilities:
Assist in the review of federal and state income tax accruals & reconciliations (current and deferred taxes; GAAP and SSAP101 and Bermuda EBS), including provision to return reconciliations and inter-company FIT settlements
Review quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures (SSAP101 and GAAP basis)
Review of federal and state income tax compliance, including preparation of federal and state returns, estimated tax payments and extensions
Coordination of federal and state audits of all taxes
Coordination of tax function/documentation with internal and external auditors
Participating in SOX compliance, including reviewing process narratives and related test work
Review miscellaneous tax returns and estimates including federal excise, premium/franchise, capital stock, CAT, municipal, use and property taxes
Work closely with team on the policyholder and vendor tax administration policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with tax withholdings and reporting requirements and all tax filings
Work on ad hoc projects as needed (merger and acquisition activity, miscellaneous tax research)
Streamline tax processes and provide training to team members
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of insurance tax accounting experience (life insurance knowledge a plus)
Highly motivated individual with ability to multi-task and complete deliverables within time constraints and deadlines in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft office applications (e.g., Excel)
Proficient in OneSource Tax Provision software a plus
Required Education / Certifications:
BA in Finance, Accounting or similar
Advanced degree or certification (MST, MSA, CPA)

Basesalary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $145,000and $ 165,000 Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon avariety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographiclocation, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.
Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re's total compensationpackage for employees. Additional compensation includes annualperformance-based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit-sharingprogram. Employee may also be eligible for long-term incentives. All incentivesand benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
