Job description

Overview

USA Health is Transforming Medicine along the Gulf Coast to care for the unique needs of our community. Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers provides the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics, and classrooms. We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.


Responsibilities
  • Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values
  • Adheres to all applicable hospital policies and procedures including those pertaining to patient confidentiality
  • Responsible for Inputing accurate patient information into HIS system and follows up for missing data
  • Explains payment policies, reviews accounts for old debts, and collects payments
  • Collects and receipts monies
  • Utilizes supportive insurance information to ensure entry of correct third party data
  • Performs general clerical duties including answering phones and maintaining files
  • Completes all admission/registration, legal, financial, and medical forms and obtains required signatures
  • Obtains social, financial, and personal data by personal interview or by telephone
  • Obtains copies of insurance and patient ID cards
  • Distributes and explains state and federally mandated information to patients
  • Follows established downtime procedures
  • Communicates and uses appropriate customer relations skills with physicians, patients, families, health care team and staff in person and via the telephone and responds to overhead pages
  • Adheres to Infection Control and Standard Precautions procedures/policies
  • Responsible for completing mandatory HealthStream Courses as assigned
  • Requires minimal supervision to safely perform essential functions
  • Operates printer, fax, copiers, and installs paper/forms weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict
  • Cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the department
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
