Job description

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Oversee all aspects of the Performance, Planning and Inventory Management functions within the Hanover Distribution Center and within all 3PL locations, to include providing direction and support to the following teams: | Planning Management | OCC & Performance Management | Inventory Management | Continuous Improvement Management ## Developing a sustainable Hanover Center network strategy aligned with the five-year strategic plan and global ambitions through effective stock optimisation of all inventory storage and operational activities that limit risk to the delivery of our plans based on capacity capability, cost to serve, quality and advise on deliverable mitigating options.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the development of strategies to build a workload and capacity model which defines labor and inventory requirements and contribute to S&OP processes to understand the forward demand plan and contribute supply plans based on a clear view of capacity and implications
  • Oversee the Planning, Inventory, and Operational Control Center teams and communicate implications where reality deviates significantly from plan including recovery plans for variations.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure first-class hygiene/housekeeping standards
  • Set system configurations & parameters including ensuring optimization of locations in Automated Storage and Retrieval and Order Storage and Retrieval systems.
  • Develop inventory management policies to support order fulfilment plans and strategies to include managing cycle count, inventory damage and quality adjustments and accurate master data.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain/Business on inventory plans/conditioning information (e.g. forecasts), investigation requests and queries including group supply chain planning, S& OP, CS, master data management and other relevant teams.
  • Ensure the execution of order start and order release plans and the management of the order pool to meet business targets to include reverse replenishment, and optimization of the consolidation activity.
  • Monitor and report on inventory, capacity utilization, age, consolidation, return, inventory positioning effectiveness, down time by process stage, cycle count
  • Interface effectively with all staff and collaborate closely with the site business improvement and CI function to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation and of its planning.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or Engineering or equivalent degree/experience required.
  • Good understanding of principles of Distribution Centres, Warehouse and Transport methods.
  • Understanding key principles of Business and Warehouse Management System and Warehouse Execution systems.
  • Awareness of business volume requirements.
  • Seasonal/event planning and execution.
  • Stock management best practices and appropriate / relevant recognized qualification.
  • Basic financial and business knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • At least 15 years of experience of Inventory planning and management, supervisory, and or Sales and Operations planning.
  • Distribution centre and Warehouse management or other Stock management packages.
  • A track history of People Management skills including developing self-managed teams.
  • Financial Analysis and Management including multi-million dollar stock and budget control.
