About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking experienced and motivated Occupational Therapists to join us on a casual basis (HP3).  As Mater's first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region.

The Occupational Therapy team supports public and private patients across the co-located Mater Hospital Springfield and Mater Private Hospital Springfield, delivering care across diverse specialty areas including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, ICU, and emergency.

Salary range:  $47.69 - $60.35 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide patient-centred, evidence-based clinical care to patients across Mater Hospital Springfield.  These roles will predominantly support patients across medical, surgical, and ICU. 

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver occupational therapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients across a range of clinical specialties
  • Managing an appropriate caseload using strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Provide safe, evidence-based care in line with professional, departmental, and organisational standards
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and support patient-centred care planning
  • Participate in quality and service improvement initiatives, translating evidence into practice
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluation and reporting
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and foster a culture of learning, collaboration and clinical excellence

About you

To excel in this role, you must have at least 1 year of experience working in an acute hospital environment.

You will also bring:

  • A Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy degree
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Clinical proficiency in a range of specialties across a hospital service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers
  • Commitment to Mater's mission, vision, and values, acting with compassion, integrity, and respect for human dignity
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and support patient care planning
