Job description

Job Summary:
Responsibilities
We're seeking a Swim Instructor to join our team! As our new Swim Instructor you will:
  • Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelines
  • Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student's progress
  • Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices
  • Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
  • Attend all in-service trainings
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates
  • Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels
  • Effectively communicate each student's progress either to the student directly, or to the student's parents where appropriate
  • Project and promote a professional image
  • Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons
  • Other tasks as assigned

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire
  • Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire
  • Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons highly preferred

Please note *Must be at least 16 years of age*
Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $18 - $19/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
