There is a fantastic opportunity for an Optometrist at Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care location in Terre Haute, Indiana! Looking for full-time, part-time, and floaters. There is a $10k Sign-On Bonus for this position!

With practice roots dating back to the 1940s, Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care's mission is to provide Indiana families and businesses with top quality, affordable eye health services and eye care products while delivering outstanding customer service-And that's a promise from the Doctor. After more than 80 years of serving the local communities, this family-owned business has grown to 23 locations across Indiana. Each practice location offers a range of eye health services, from affordable eye exams to specialty contact lenses and ocular disease management. Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care employs more than 200 professionals, with four to five staff members and one to two doctors at each location. The practice also has strong support teams, including a customer service center, billing, IT, marketing, community outreach, and store operations departments allowing doctors to focus on patient care.

To help patients achieve optimal vision, all practices utilize autorefractors, non-contact tonometry, and digital visual acuity charts. Each Optometrist receives an iPad with cloud-based practice management and electronic health records software to enable a seamless process at every point of the patient experience. About the Optometrist Opening

Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care is seeking an Optometrist dedicated to a career centered around providing excellent service for every patient and a strong commitment to improving vision in the communities it serves-making a difference in the lives of fellow Hoosiers. In this role, you'll perform comprehensive exams, diagnose and manage ocular disease, and handle eye care emergencies.

The practice is looking for a professional with a natural talent for building solid doctor-patient relationships who can seamlessly hand off patients as they transition to the optical team. Proficiency in disease management, including ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic testing, is also essential to this role. A candidate experienced in ocular diseases and has a strong interest in pediatric eye care will be an asset to the team. You'll also have the opportunity to support the expansion of contact lens service and the growth of the medical management side of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skillset, care for a diverse population of patients, and work alongside talented professionals.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, excellent patient communication skills, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications:

Hours:

  • 8 am to 5:30 pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri
  • 9:30 am to 7:00 pm Thursdays
  • 8 am to 1:30 pm Saturdays (Ideally all Saturdays but this is negotiable)
  • 5 days per week is full time but open to part time as well
