Job description

Our client, located on the north side of Columbus, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support a variety of accounting and administrative functions. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term potential for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of accounting, has strong Excel skills, and is comfortable in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Compile and maintain weekly production reports for multiple divisions
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and process weekly bank deposits
  • Assist with annual budget preparation alongside the Controller
  • Enter and maintain payroll data in spreadsheets and within bookkeeping software
  • Support accounting operations using QuickBooks
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, taking messages, and directing calls
  • Assist with high call volume, particularly between 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and support both accounting and administrative functions
  • Professional communication skills and customer-focused mindset
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (onsite)
