Overview
The Research Compliance Administrator leads and coordinates AuburnUniversity at Montgomery’s (AUM’s) research compliance programs toensure all research activities adhere to federal, state, andinstitutional regulations. This role manages major complianceareas-including IRB, IACUC, biosafety/biosecurity, responsibleconduct of research, export controls, material/data transferagreements, and time & effort reporting. The Administratoroversees protocol review systems, facilitates compliance committeeoperations, and helps to develop policies and procedures governingethical and responsible research. The position conducts regulatoryreviews, audits, inspections, and post-approval monitoring tomaintain institutional readiness for federal oversight andaccreditation. Serving as a central campus resource, the roleadvises faculty, staff, and administrators on compliancerequirements and emerging regulatory issues while supportingtraining, audits, and site visits across the university.
This is a grant funded (fully soft money) position.

Responsibilities
· Providing administrative and operational oversight of allresearch compliance programs (IBC, IRB, IACUC).
· Develop and maintain systems for protocol submission, review,tracking and reporting.
· Coordinate compliance committee meetings, training anddocumentation.
· Develop, update and disseminate compliance-related policies andSOPs.
· Ensure alignment with federal regulations.
· Oversee audits, inspections and compliance assessments.
· Provide regulatory guidance to researchers andadministrators.
· Support training programs, audits, reporting requests anddocumentation for site visits.
Qualifications
BS, MS or PhD in a relevant discipline
Successful candidates must have earned at least a bachelor’s degreein one or more of the following disciplines, or another arearelated to the position duties:
· Occupational Health and Safety
· Environmental Health and Safety
· Safety, Security and Emergency Management
· Public Health
· Industrial Hygiene
· Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry
· Healthcare Administration
· Research Administration
· Public Policy
Applicants with an advanced degree (MS, PhD, other) andprofessional experience in a regulatory role would also representstrong candidates. Alternatively, a bachelor’s in science and oneof the more challenging professional certifications is also highlycompetitive. Examples of such certificates include Certified HealthPhysicist (CHP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), CertifiedBiological Safety Professional (CBSP), Certified SafetyProfessional (CSP), Certified Professional in IACUC Administration(CPIA), Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified Complianceand Ethics Professional (CCEP).
