Job description

Collect and analyze geotechnical field information, enter it in the database and verify the viability. Obtain geotechnical information, such as mapping and field testing. Assist in the interpretation of the information collected. Coordinate field requirements with short-term plans, mine development and environmental protection. Support the development of geotechnical designs. Conduct field inspections and identify abnormalities. Prepare geotechnical reports.

Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Geoscientific Studies and Interpretations: Create proposals for the selection of exploration-well locations by overseeing all aspects of geological/geophysical modeling and leading the data interpretation process.
  • Reservoir Characterization and Analysis: Plan, propose, and manage execution of reservoir characterization, modeling, simulation, and asset evaluation programs, including reservoir and individual well performance review, model initialization, history matching, future performance prediction, and reserves evaluation.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Data Management: Manage key aspects of the data management system. This includes being responsible for developing or operating key elements of the system.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/application software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs.
  • Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in a particular area of expertise and to support the practice.
  • Personal Capability Building: Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Research: Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of a research program, with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Manage complex technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of complex technical issues with equipment and experiments and the development of effective solutions.
  • Exploration Plan Development: Guide wide-ranging exploration planning activities across multiple highly complex projects.
