Job description

Job Description
Shenandoah University's School of Pharmacy is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice position. This is a full-time, benefited position located on our Health Professions campus in Winchester, Virginia.
This position emphasizes pharmacy practice and patient care in an ambulatory or acute care setting in Winchester, VA. The primary clinical responsibilities of the faculty member will be the provision of patient care encompassing a broad range of disease states with an emphasis on acute/chronic diseases and medication management. They may be involved in implementing other patient care services. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for IPPE and APPE students. Didactic teaching will primarily occur within the School of Pharmacy's therapeutic modules, patient assessment skills, or case-based laboratory courses. Service and scholarship responsibilities will be determined by faculty rank.
Required Skills
  • The candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of clinical ambulatory care/acute care pharmacy practice, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and work within innovative pharmacy practice models.
  • A pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in pharmacy practice is required.
  • Candidates with prior academic experience or additional training (PGY2 or fellowship) are encouraged to apply.

Required Experience
The candidate should possess a Pharm.D. degree and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the State of Virginia.
