Job description

JOB TITLE: EVS Housekeeping Aide

REPORTS TO: EVS Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The EVS housekeeping aide performs a variety of duties at VVGMC for the cleaning and maintenance. Assists in receiving, distribution and accounting of clean linen and wearing apparel. Provides cleaning services for the hospital following all regulatory requirements. Ability to follow simple instructions, keep simple records of job duties and reports as directed, maintain compliance with principles of acted conduct, and communicate effectively with coworkers and management. Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Keeps offices, hospital and educational facilities in clean, orderly condition. Cleans offices, patient or guestrooms, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention. Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets. May replenish supplies (drinking glasses, writing supplies), move furniture, hang draperies, set up tables and chairs in conference rooms or halls, push/pull a cleaning cart, move supplies and equipment, carry buckets, operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners and telephones, maintain tools/equipment and wear protective clothing as required by the work environment or government regulations. May also train and coordinate activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premises.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: No previous experience required. Knowledge of basic cleaning skills preferred. Must meet state labor laws if operating equipment.
