Job description

CREC Academy of International Studies seeks a creative, high energy and student centered secondary (grades 6-8) technology teacher. Candidates should have a broad based understanding of engineering content, principles, and applications. Knowledge of robotics and coding preferred.
Technology Education teachers work under the general supervision of their school principal performing the essential performance responsibilities listed below.


Essential Performance Responsibilities:
        *Develops and administers technology education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
        *Teaches skill and knowledge in mechanics, drafting, electricity, electronics, metalwork, graphic arts, woodworking, or related fields.
        *Designs learning activities to demonstrative the application of technical skills to everyday existence; guides students in the selection of projects or experiments.
        *Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for Technology Education, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
        *Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
 






Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications Profile:
        *Certification area: 047 Technology Education, PK-12
        *Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
        *Master's degree preferred.
        *Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
