YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

As a frontline ambassador to our guests, maintaining a positive attitude and projecting a professional $25.18image is of utmost importance. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the orderly conduct of events, thereby facilitating an enjoyable experience for all attendees. Ushers are expected to exhibit friendliness and courtesy at all times, while also demonstrating firmness in addressing any issues that may arise.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

  • Create a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and Team Member satisfaction
  • Be knowledgeable of venue layouts to include, first aid areas, fire extinguishers, AED locations, Security offices, main floor, VIP level, Balcony level, elevators, escalators, load in areas, merchandise area, restrooms, bars, smoking areas, guest relations office, box office and all entrances and exits
  • Serve as a mentor and provide support Ushers by disseminating pertinent show information and details during briefings to include reviewing credentials, run of show information, expected attendance, VIP and Meet and Greet events, special requests, relocations, ADA, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable of and respond to Usher questions regarding Usher duties and union rules
  • Complete end of night reports, when necessary, that cover event specifics and an overview of any issues, questions, comments, or concerns that arose throughout the night
  • Assist Venue Operators and Manager on Duty in assigning Usher positions/postings, rotations and coordinate breaks, early outs, lunches, and dismissals
  • Utilize your customer relations skills by ensuring your job comes alive by communicating with our guests and team members in a pleasant and efficient manner
  • Assist guests with their ticket locations, keep guests in ticketed areas only, be familiar with all passes and credentials, remain in assigned areas and keep aisle and walkways clear at all times
  • Observe guest activities and report any discrepancies immediately to Security to ensure the safety of the event
  • Complete accident/incident reports promptly and efficiently
  • Scan and confirm tickets are accurate
  • Provide directional information to guests
  • Conduct visual bottle search

WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively listen and verbally communicate with guests, promoter representatives, supervisors and fellow workers
  • Must possess reading, writing and mathematical skills in order to perform the above listed functions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

MUST HAVE'S

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

  • Fluent in more than one language
  • Prior Usher experience in a hotel or large venue capacity

THE WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Subject to varying levels of crowds, smoke and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume
  • Must withstand various activities, such as prolonged standing, walking, stretching, bending, reaching, kneeling, etc.
  • It is crucial to maintain physical stamina and positive mental attitude
  • Working under pressure, effectively handling both sober and intoxicated guests, and collaborating with collogues and management in a calm and professional manner
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced, busy, noisy environment with constant dirt and dust
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors with frequent cold and warm temperatures
