The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.

The Honda Center is looking for enthusiastic ushers to provide excellent customer service to ourguests.Ushers must maintain the Honda Center's quality standards in creating a safe, fun, and seamless experience for all the guests.It is our goal to make our guests' experience at the Honda Center as enjoyable and pleasant as possible. An usher presents a friendly and personal demeanor to guests at all times and is readily able to assist at all times.The ideal candidate will have experience with client-facing, in-person customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Ushers are responsible for assisting guests at various public gatherings or entertainment events
  • Duties within Event Services include ticket taking, ticket verification, club, suite and general seating assistance, elevator assistance, program distribution, facility locatorsuch as restrooms andallother guest relations
  • Entry process into the Honda Centerallowingguests'event access, verification of valid tickets, scanner usage/knowledge, providing general directions and assisting with handouts including lifting and moving boxes to various locations
  • Responsible for avariety of areas including elevators, stairwells, aisles,and lobbies
  • Usher will conduct ticket verificationfor assigned section, direction to specific seat, assist with resolving ticket issues and those requiring special seating needs
  • Stand at the top of assigned section with the regular intervals of walking up and down the stairs to ensure guest needs are being met
  • Responds in a timely mannerto the guests needs and reports any concerns to the supervisor
  • Ushers maybe assigned to work in confined areassuch aselevators
  • Follows proper procedures during evacuations and emergencies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs at varying inclines
  • Works well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Flexible schedule - candidates must be able to work 80% of all monthly events; ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
