Job description

Salary: $ 140,000.00

We have recently partnered with a Food and Beverage Manufacturing company in Fullerton, CA to provide them with a Director of Quality. Please review the description below and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Director of Quality:

#1. Bachelor's degree (four-year college or technical school) Required.

#2. SQF Practitioner status required.

#3. 10 years in related functions and demonstrated ability to work well with executive leadership and multiple departments.

#4. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10yrs.

Responsibilities of the Director of Quality:

  • Oversee risk assessments and implementation of preventative measures to maintain product safety and quality.
  • Oversee and maintain systems to assure facility meets all SQF certification requirements, including commitment document control, records, specifications, food safety and quality, verification, product identification, trace and recall, food safety fundamentals, establish and implement training needs of personnel, building design and construction, HACCP, and re-requisite programs.
  • Create, manage, and ensure compliance with the internal audit schedule, conduct supplier audits.
  • Oversee results of internal food safety audits and participate in external inspections.
  • Partners with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
  • Manage the quality database, audit production quality and customers standards, system improvements and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance by monitoring programs, policies, procedures, SOPS, audit, documentation, improvement plans training.
  • Ensure that all Federal and State food legislation is maintained and updated.
  • Oversee and coordinate the testing of new items and product launches from production to shipping.

Requirements of the Director of Quality:

  • Bachelor's degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field, master's degree preferred.
  • SQF Practitioner status required. Knowledgeable of FDA and or USDA inspected manufacturers' SQF Practitioner status required.
  • 10 years in related functions and demonstrated ability to work well with executive leadership and multiple departments.
  • Two years in a manufacturing environment under USDA and or FDA.
  • Two years facilitating food safety and quality related training events.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Cross collaborative
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • SQF, USDA, FDA Audit experience.

  • Onsite role
