Job description

Description

Build Something Extraordinary.

Some people manage events.

Others create experiences that guests remember for the rest of their lives.

At Gallatin River Lodge, we believe hospitality is about creating moments of genuine connection. Nestled on 20 private acres just outside Bozeman, our award-winning boutique lodge has become one of Montana's premier destinations for weddings, corporate retreats, private celebrations, and unforgettable dining experiences. We're looking for more than someone to coordinate events. We're looking for a builder. A leader. A hospitality professional who wants to leave their mark.

About Gallatin River Lodge

Gallatin River Lodge is an independent boutique resort offering luxury lodging, award-winning dining, destination weddings, corporate retreats, and private events just minutes from downtown Bozeman. Our guests choose us because they want something authentic-not a ballroom attached to a convention center. They come for Montana.

They stay because of our people. We're passionate about genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and creating experiences that exceed expectations. As our events business continues to grow, we're searching for someone who wants to grow with us.

Your Opportunity

As the Events Manager, you'll own the entire event experience-from the first inquiry through the final farewell.

You'll be responsible for growing our catering and events business while leading flawless execution for weddings, corporate meetings, social celebrations, private dinners, and special events.

You'll partner directly with our Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, General Manager, to continuously improve our event offerings and help shape what Gallatin River Lodge becomes over the next five to ten years.

If you've ever wanted the freedom to truly build something-not simply maintain someone else's system-this is that opportunity.

What You'll Own

Grow Our Events Business

  • Develop relationships that generate new business.
  • Increase corporate retreats, weddings, and private      events.
  • Create memorable guest experiences that generate      referrals.
  • Think creatively about new event opportunities and      revenue streams.
  • Represent Gallatin River Lodge throughout the      community and cultivate lasting client relationships.

Lead Exceptional Events

  • Own each event from initial planning through flawless      execution.
  • Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Coordinate seamlessly with Culinary and Hotel      Operations.
  • Ensure every event exceeds guest expectations.
  • Handle service recovery with professionalism and      confidence.
  • Oversee room setup, event flow, service execution,      and breakdown.

Build a High-Performing Team

  • Lead banquet staff with positivity, accountability,      and professionalism.
  • Foster a culture where people enjoy coming to work      and take pride in what they do.
  • Lead by example and create an environment built      around teamwork and genuine hospitality.

Drive Financial Success

  • Prepare event proposals and estimates.
  • Manage deposits, contracts, and final billing.
  • Maintain banquet equipment and inventory.
  • Help maximize profitability while protecting the      guest experience.
  • Support the continued growth of our events business      through thoughtful planning and sales.

Who Thrives Here

The right person doesn't wait to be told what to do.

They naturally take ownership.

They notice details others miss.

They care deeply about creating memorable guest experiences.

They're energized by solving problems.

They enjoy leading teams.

They think like an owner.

Most importantly, they're looking for a place where they can invest their career-not simply work another job.

We're searching for someone who wants to become an integral part of Gallatin River Lodge's future and celebrate our successes for years to come.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of banquet, catering, event management, or      hospitality leadership experience.
  • Hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant experience      preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to      inspire teams.
  • Strong financial and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building      skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as      business demands require.

Compensation & Growth

We believe exceptional people deserve exceptional opportunities.

This is an hourly leadership position with a starting wage of $28 per hour, depending on experience, leadership ability, and demonstrated expertise.

In addition to hourly compensation, you'll participate in our quarterly event sales commission program, giving you the opportunity to directly benefit from the business you help generate and grow.

As Gallatin River Lodge continues to expand, this role offers meaningful opportunities for increased responsibility, professional development, and long-term career advancement.

We're looking for someone who wants to grow alongside us.
