Job Purpose
We are seeking a strategic, high-energy Events & Content Operations Lead to elevate and manage our end-to-end event ecosystem. In this role, you will not only oversee high-impact external corporate events and high-profile internal functions, but you will also champion the operational infrastructure that powers them-including our digital/physical demo spaces, speaker bureau, and publications management systems.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record within the oil and gas industry, possesses deep project management expertise, and has a strong desire to scale and elevate an event department into a world-class operation.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Event Strategy & Execution
  • External & Internal Events: Plan, execute, and scale high-profile external corporate events, trade shows, and specialized internal executive events.
  • Departmental Elevation: Modernize and elevate the event department by establishing standardized playbooks, ROI frameworks, and innovative event formats.

2. Infrastructure & Space Management
  • Demo Spaces & Theaters: Manage the day-to-day operations, scheduling, and technology integration for physical and digital demonstration spaces and corporate theaters.
  • Speaker Bureau: Oversee the company's internal speaker bureau, vetting engagements, aligning executives with strategic topics, and managing the overall speaker calendar.
  • Publications Management: Maintain and optimize the corporate publications management system to ensure all event-related literature and technical papers are tracked and compliant.

3. Agency, Procurement & Operations
  • Agency Management: Lead and collaborate with external creative and production agencies to deliver cutting-edge physical and digital media.
  • Procurement & Budgeting: Navigate complex corporate procurement processes, including RFP issuance, contract negotiations, vendor onboarding, and strict budget oversight.
  • Workflow Optimization: Utilize Adobe Workfront (or similar project management platforms) to streamline event intake, resource allocation, and team workflows.

You are meant for this job if:
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing corporate events, specifically within the oil and gas / energy sector.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multi-phase projects, cross-functional stakeholders, and tight deadlines.
  • Agency & Media Leadership: Demonstrated success managing agencies to deliver both physical assets (booths, signage) and digital media (videos, interactive displays).
  • Procurement Savvy: Solid understanding of corporate purchasing, vendor compliance, and statement of work (SOW) processes.

Preferred :
  • Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with Adobe Workfront or similar for project tracking and workflow automation, Seismic for Content Management, PowerBi for dashboards and DAM for content storage.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional), or PMP (Project Management Professional) are highly desirable.
