K-8 Account Executive, FL

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager 

Territory Location: Florida

 

As an Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in advancing K–12 literacy and multisensory math initiatives across midsize-to-larger school districts in your assigned geography. Leveraging the company's strong brand recognition, you will expand its literacy and math curriculums along with EdTech solutions across districts and school sites. Driving sales within complex procurement environments, navigating multi-stakeholder decision-making processes, and securing multi-year contracts. You will act as both a strategist and a trusted partner, uncovering new growth opportunities through your deep network of district contacts while nurturing existing relationships to secure renewals and drive expansion.

As an Account Executive you will grow the sales pipeline, leading to growth in the company’s revenue. Tasks include generating and following up on leads generated by the website, company events, and the marketing department’s campaigns. Support for current and future clients includes activities such as attending conferences and the company’s events and participating in sales meetings.

Success in this role requires a resilient mindset, consultative selling skills, and the ability to balance strategic account management with proactive business development, all in service of fostering long-term partnerships that advance literacy and math outcomes at scale.

Essential Responsibilities:


·      New Business & Market Growth: Actively prospect midsize-to-larger school districts to expand market presence, identify untapped growth opportunities, and execute targeted outreach strategies for new product placements and services

·      Cross-Sell & Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities to introduce complementary products and services that address additional client needs within existing accounts

·      Product Promotion: Promote and sell standards-aligned special education math curriculum, science-based reading curriculum, digital learning solutions, and professional learning offerings tailored to diverse learner needs

·      Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and engage K–12 administrators and decision-makers to drive placement of literacy and math solutions

·      Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling, tailored presentations that demonstrate the value and effectiveness of literacy and math products to each prospect

·      Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including superintendents, curriculum directors, and literacy coaches to understand district challenges and present targeted solutions

·      Pipeline Management: Manage and prioritize opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and consistent progression through the sales cycle

·      Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations, address objections, and close deals to meet or exceed revenue targets

·      Market Insights: Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and education policy to inform sales strategies

·      Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to align on market needs and drive growth

·      Continuous Learning: Maintain deep product knowledge across curriculum and professional learning offerings through ongoing training and development

 

Skills and Qualifications:


·      Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred

·      K–12 education experience preferred

·      Minimum 3 years of EdTech sales experience with a focus on K–12 market segments

·      Proven ability to prospect, cold-call, and independently generate new business

·      Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to qualify/disqualify accounts efficiently and develop customized solutions

·      Familiarity with literacy instruction methodologies, reading intervention strategies, and science-based reading

·      Familiarity with multisensory math programs and a commitment to maximizing student potential

·      Demonstrated success selling to midsize-to-larger K–12 districts, including navigating complex procurement processes and securing multi-year contracts

·      Extensive existing network of contacts across district administration levels

·      Ability to develop and execute strategic territory plans aligned to district priorities

·      Resilience and patience to manage longer sales cycles and complex decision-making environments

·      Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding quota

·      Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

·      Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms

·      Comfortable using AI and open to expanding AI literacy as more tools become available

·      Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

 

·      Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet with prospects and attend conferences or industry events.

·      In addition, the ability to travel up to 40% overnight primarily within the state; expect to travel several times monthly to distant regions within the state involving overnight stays 1-2 nights.

·      The use of standard office equipment/computers and some light physical work is required

·      The work environment will range from an office to conference setting with a low to high noise level

Salary Range:  

 

Compensation for this role includes an annual base salary between $70,000 and $80,000 with additional commission potential based on performance.
