What does an events associate do?

An Events Associate helps plan, coordinate, and execute events such as conferences, meetings, and social gatherings. Their responsibilities typically include managing logistics, communicating with vendors and attendees, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly. Events Associates often work closely with event managers and other team members to deliver a successful experience for guests and clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an events associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Events Associate, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning, often supported by a degree in hospitality or a related field. Familiarity with event management software, budgeting tools, and standard office applications is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out when coordinating with vendors, clients, and team members. These skills ensure seamless event execution, client satisfaction, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.

How does an events associate typically collaborate with vendors and internal teams during the planning process?

As an Events Associate, you’ll frequently coordinate with both external vendors (such as caterers, venues, and audiovisual suppliers) and internal teams (like marketing, sales, and operations) to ensure all event details are aligned. This involves regular communication, managing timelines, and confirming deliverables to keep everyone on track. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be the link between multiple stakeholders, troubleshooting issues and adapting to last-minute changes. Professional Sales Development Program

Retail Partnerships | Full-Time | Salary + Performance Bonus

Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager

Launch Your Sales Career (No Experience Needed)

Looking to break into sales, marketing, or business development? This is your chance.

Our Professional Sales Development Program is designed for recent grads and early-career talent who want real-world experience, mentorship, and a fast track into high-earning sales roles. As our Field Marketing Associate you will build skills in relationship-building, retail marketing, and customer experience—while working directly with one of the largest home improvement retailers in the U.S.

If you’re energetic, people-focused, and motivated by growth, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

You’ll act as the face of our brand inside partner retail stores, helping generate leads, support events, and build relationships.

In-Store (About 60%)

  • Connect with store associates and help them understand our services
  • Run in-store events (think pop-ups, demo tables, mobile showroom events)
  • Keep displays and marketing materials organized and on-brand
  • Promote seasonal offers and create excitement with customers
  • Build relationships with store leadership and team members

Office / Remote Work (About 40%)

  • Follow up on customer leads and support the sales pipeline
  • Track performance and submit weekly reports
  • Help schedule events and plan store visits
  • Learn and apply sales processes and best practices
  • Collaborate with your team and managers for coaching and development

How You’ll Grow (KPIs That Matter)

Don’t worry, you’ll be trained on all of this. These metrics help guide your growth:

  • Generating customer leads (goal: ~1 per store/week)
  • Fast response time to customer inquiries
  • Turning leads into appointments and proposals
  • Supporting strong customer experience scores (90%+)

What We’re Looking For

  • Recent grad or early-career professional (0–2 years experience)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Comfortable talking to new people daily
  • Organized, proactive, and coachable
  • Interest in sales, marketing, or business development
  • Willingness to travel locally between store locations

What You’ll Get

  • Structured sales training program (we teach you everything)
  • Hands-on experience with real customers and real results
  • Mentorship from experienced sales leaders
  • Clear path to promotion into higher-level sales roles
  • Competitive base salary + performance-based bonuses
  • Resume-building experience with a national retail partner

Your First Few Weeks

We’ll set you up for success with on-boarding that includes:

  • Training on our retail partnership and sales process
  • Shadowing live in-store events
  • Learning how to engage customers and generate leads
  • Getting familiar with tools, systems, and marketing materials

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t a desk job where you’re stuck doing busywork. You’ll be:

  • Meeting people every day
  • Building real business skills
  • Making a measurable impact
  • Setting yourself up for a high-growth sales career

Why Join Closet Factory?

  • Be part of an industry titan where you can unleash your operational prowess to support our mission of transforming clients’ homes. With unmatched earning potential, cutting-edge tools, and a supportive, inclusive team, you’ll have the resources to build a thriving career. As a Field Marketing Associate, you’ll play a pivotal role in a rapidly growing company.
