Job description

The Role

The Field Marketing Intern is the boots-on-the-ground driver of local store marketing (LSM) across our Nashville and Murfreesboro shops. You will spend the majority of your week in the community, in our shops, and at events, building relationships with schools, athletic departments, run clubs, gyms, offices, and local influencers, while creating the content that brings those relationships to life on social media.

You will own the local marketing calendar, generate and execute catering and event opportunities, and report on what is working. You will work hand in hand with our Area Manager and shop GMs, and you will partner with the Playa Bowls corporate Regional Marketing Manager to execute brand-aligned campaigns at the local level.

This role is ideal for someone who is early in their marketing career, naturally outgoing, comfortable on camera and behind it, and excited to build something.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain a master contact list of local schools, universities, sororities, athletic departments, run clubs, gyms, and corporate offices across our markets.

  • Generate inbound and outbound leads for events, catering, fundraisers, and dine-to-donate nights.

  • Vet partnership opportunities and prioritize the ones that drive measurable traffic, sales, or brand visibility.

  • Plan events end-to-end, from initial outreach through on-site execution, including setup and breakdown.

Catering & Events

  • Manage catering inquiries and orders across ezCater and direct in-shop channels.

  • Be on-site for catering execution to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Attend and run off-site catering and event activations, including sampling pop-ups, festivals, and sponsorships.

  • Coordinate event staffing, product needs, and logistics with shop GMs and the Area Manager.

  • Track and report on every catering order, fundraiser, and event, including revenue, cost, and ROI.

Local Social Media & Content Creation

  • Assist with social presence for our shop accounts on Instagram and TikTok, including planning, scheduling, posting, and community management.

  • Shoot, edit, and publish native short-form content (Reels, TikToks, UGC-style videos) on a consistent weekly cadence.

  • Coordinate influencer DMs, partnership visits, and content collaborations.

  • Create boosted posts and report on engagement, reach, and follower growth.

Loyalty, Promotions & Reporting

  • Support loyalty campaigns and promotions, including segment-specific activations such as lapsed-guest win-backs, daypart shifts, and cross-store activation.

  • Coordinate Google Business Profile updates, photos, and review response support across all locations.

  • Track campaign performance, redemptions, and ROI across TapMango, third-party delivery (TPD), boosted social posts, and tangible assets such as flyers and mailers.

  • Deliver a monthly marketing report to the owner and Area Manager covering events, catering, social, and loyalty performance.

Operations & Administration

  • Place orders and maintain inventory of marketing assets including flyers, stickers, giveaways, retail items, and event supplies.

  • Manage the local marketing budget, tracking spend against ROI.

  • Collaborate with the Playa Bowls Regional Marketing Manager to implement quarterly brand plans at the local level.

  • Hold yourself and event teams accountable for product quality, brand consistency, speed of service, and guest experience at every activation.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will be measured against clear quarterly targets.

  • A set number of community events per shop per quarter.

  • Quarterly catering order volume and revenue targets.

  • Loyalty member sign-ups.

  • Local social media engagement and follower growth across our shop accounts.

  • TapMango campaign and TPD ad redemption rates.

  • Measurable in-shop sales lift from sponsorships, fundraisers, and dine-to-donate events.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Experience in events, catering, hospitality marketing, brand ambassadorship, or a related field.

  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel between Nashville and Murfreesboro on a weekly basis.

  • Comfort on camera, plus hands-on experience shooting and editing short-form video content (Reels, TikTok) on an iPhone.

  • Strong outbound communication skills.

  • Project management experience.

  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed for events, activations, and catering. This is core to the role.

  • A passion for community, hospitality, and building a brand.

Strongly Preferred

  • Background in events and catering, not just social media. A big part of this role is getting out into the community.

  • Existing network in the Nashville or Murfreesboro markets.

  • Prior experience in food and beverage and/or retail.

What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.

  • Employee discounts

  • Clear growth path into a Field Marketing Manager role as we expand.

  • A high-trust, high-ownership environment where the work you do has a visible, immediate impact on the business.

Important Notes

This role usually includes weekends. Most of our highest-impact community events, catering opportunities, and content shoots happen on Saturdays and Sundays. We make this clear up front because we want someone who is excited about it, not surprised by it.

You must have a car and the ability to drive to and execute on events, including physical setup and breakdown of tables, signage, and product.
