Job description

We are currently seeking a part-time Facilities Support Technician, responsible for assisting the Facilities Department in setup and breakdown of event spaces and performing basic building maintenance. Responsibilities and qualifications are shown below:

POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Set up and break down event equipment including tables, chairs, stages, AV equipment, signage, and decorations.
  • Move and arrange furniture and supplies as required.
  • Ensure event areas are clear of obstacles, organized, and safe before and after events.
  • Follow event layout plans and instructions from supervisors.
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance on lighting, building equipment and show systems.
  • Assist in the set-up and breakdown of exhibits.
  • Perform minor mechanical and construction projects.
  • Assist with unloading/loading equipment and supplies from vehicles.
  • Maintain and store equipment properly after each event.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow crew members and event team members.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures during event setup and breakdown.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings/overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Punctuality and reliability in performing job duties.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, or facilities is a plus, but not required.
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol screening and background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evening/nights and weekends.
  • Ability to read and interpret event setup diagrams.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Must be comfortable with physical work and being on your feet for extended periods.
