Job Description

The Event Technical Services (ETS) Technician's primary responsibilities include the set-up, operation, and maintenance of sound, lighting, and A/V equipment, and in person customer service at events, via phone and email.

This position reports to the ETS Student Manager and the Event Production Coordinator.

$12.50/hour

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be available to work between 5-15 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including rotating weekend shifts. Shifts can be scheduled as late as 2:00am for special events during the week and on weekends.

Applicants should also be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. while on shift. They must be capable of working under limited supervision during shifts. Event Technical Services will attempt to provide reasonable accommodation applicable to a disability in order to help the employee perform the required duties of the job.

Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers.

Successful applicants must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First AID certification courses within 8 weeks of beginning employment. Certification sessions will be provided by the University Centers. These certifications must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with audio visual equipment is preferred, but successful applicants will be trained.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.

Education

The ETS Technician must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
