Job description

We're looking for Security Officer professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska.
What You'll Do
As a Security Officer, you'll play an essential role in ensuring that guests and employees are safe and there are no dangers or irregularities around the premises.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitors employee entrance and security cameras.
  • Patrol buildings and property including; lobbies, corridors, and public rooms, examining doors, windows and gates to assure they are secure.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked, and reports findings to appropriate department personnel.
  • Ensures safety rules are posted and enforced across the Resort.
  • Requests for and assists management and law enforcement officers in emergency situations
  • Examines Fire Alarm systems for operational status and examines fire extinguishers and other safety equipment for serviceability.
  • Interviews guests and employees, and questions persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, unsafe conditions, fires and accidents.

What We Need
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have valid US Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior security training and experience in the bar/event industry preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior security training and experience in the hotel industry preferred.
  • Candidate must have CPR, First Aid and TAPs Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of basic security and fire prevention procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service experience, and observing situations and competent with decision making.
  • Must be able to use FM radio and work with minimal supervision.
