Overview

Reporting to the Director of Security, the Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of venue security, including staff management, event security planning, risk mitigation, guest safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance with applicable regulations. This leadership role will work closely with internal departments, external law enforcement, and contracted security partners to ensure a safe environment for guests, staff, and performers.

This role pays an annual salary of $60,000-$80,000 CAD

This position will remain open until November 6, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Manage security operations for all events and day-to-day venue activity
  • Develop and implement security plans and deployment strategies
  • Coordinate with event promoters, tour security, and local law enforcement
  • Act as the venue's primary security contact during events
  • Recruit, train, and manage in-house and third-party security staff
  • Schedule and manage shifts to ensure adequate coverage for all venue operations
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action where needed
  • Develop and maintain emergency action and evacuation plans
  • Lead emergency response efforts and incident investigations
  • Conduct regular training and tabletop exercises with staff
  • Ensure adherence to OVG safety standards, municipal codes, provincial regulations, and crowd control guidelines
  • Monitor venue access control, credentialing, and CCTV systems
  • Maintain detailed incident reports and support insurance/risk management efforts
  • Lead with a hospitality-first mindset to ensure guest interactions are safe, respectful, and professional
  • Handle escalated guest concerns and disturbances with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience in venue, stadium, or large-scale event security
  • Proven management and team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols, crowd management, and physical security systems
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR, AED, and crisis response training (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License required
  • Familiarity with liquor license enforcement and de-escalation strategies
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience working with law enforcement, EMS, and contracted security vendors
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
